Saddam Hussein had WMD's and used them on the Kurds and Iraqis, that killed hundreds of thousands., with the NY Times stating that He may have slaughterd up to a million people during His reign.

His primary WMD's were chemical weapons, Sarin, Mustard Gas, and nerve agents. Saddam Hussein was working on a developing nuclear weapons, but I am not aware that he actual succeeded at making them.

As part of the treaty President George Hubert Bush made with Iraq was that the US will send operatives to inspect all Iraq's weapons bunkers and confiscate any and all Of Iraq's WMD's.

Inspectors were sent to Iraq, and the operation was ongoing when Bill Clinton was President. Our inspectors were being blocked from certain weapon bunkers or portions thereof suspected to have WMD's.

President Clinton was embarassed by the constant headlines of Saddam Hussein defying the United States by breaking their treaty that ended the war between the U,S. and our allies by blocking access to bunkers suspected to have WMD's. President Clinton responded by pulling our inspectors out of Iraq, leaving the media with nothing to write about.

President GWB made it his priority to take possession of Iraq's WMD's, and He attempted to work with the UN. This was before 9/11 at the World Trade Center in NY etc..

However, the UN stalled the United States from sending troops to Iraq, granting Saddam Hussein several months to comply with opening all their Bunkers to UN inspections.

During this delay period mandated by the UN, Satellite photos of those bunkers that the U.S. suspected contained WMD's had trucks arriving to these bunkers and were loaded from materials from these Bunkers, and brought whatever they removed to Syria, where they were stored in the Beka valley.

I personally seen those photos of trucks arriving at the questionable bunkers in Iraq, and travel back to Syria after loading. And a few years later I read an Israeli intelligence report that Israel is keeping an eye on the locations in the Beka valley the trucks unloaded whatever they took from Iraq, and any effort to move that cargo will be met by an Israel Air Strike.

I tend to believe the transported cargo are biological WMD's, and not Nuclear bombs, but with the possibility of what is called dirty nuclear WMDs.

He did not, thanks in large part due to Israel taking the reactor out in 1981.. I do believe that we will someday get the answer to what happened to the WMDs in Syria
