Charge a fee from the person when he resurrects a long dormant, should-stay-dead thread!

How do people find these threads? ...Are they really scouring the lists?

It is pretty wild to have a controversial thread brought back to life (and argument continued) what was originated months prior.....

I usually think, "Where did that come from".....LOL

Well Mike, I remember seeing your 40th birthday thread here a couple of weeks ago and there were people wishing you a happy 40th birthday and that was the end of last year wasn't it?

What did you end up doing on your 40th birthday??? LOL

I don't mind thread resurrection, so long as something new/interesting is brought up by the necromancer. What I can't stand is when someone brings back a dead thread (ha) simply to say they agree with so and so.

Um, maybe it's because anytime one of us newbies tries to start a new thread about a topic that's already been discussed (so that us newbies can in fact discuss it), we're flamed for not searching the forums for the already-posted-on topic! geez, you can't win in this place.

Sadly, this is the way just about every online forum is. Luckily, the moderators here aren't a bunch of heavy-handed younger guys trying to assert their authority (or lack thereof) by closing anything they don't like.

Nice to find certain dormant threads when you are looking for strength training, cardio or general fitness tips. Since RealJock is a gay fitness, health & life site perhaps there can be a "retired" feature for non-fitness/health forums: those that are assigned as vague "life" categories perhaps.icon_idea.gif

Well, Cas, I think the threads come back months prior to the original discussion because new members arrive and maybe on a slow forum day, do scour the list. I thinks it's better they do that than start new threads pertaining to the same dead subjects. Maybe this is why they scour the list also, to prevent themselves from doing that.
If an RJ member does it, maybe he had the forum tracked and thought the discussion didn't end to his liking so he post hoping it'll open back up. Again, I think it opens back up because new forum members hadn't seen it before and are curious to gain insight on what came before.

You mean like the mods on a certain gaming site for gay people that shall remain nameless?
