A new poll has really bad news for Mitt Romney. The Pew survey has him trailing Barack Obama by 8 points.

Pew says the 8-point gap is larger than the last three winning presidential candidates enjoyed at this point in the race - including Barack Obama in 2008.

we still have to remember that it's not over till it's over and can't get complacent. the flip side of bad news for Romney is that Obama supporters think it's in the bag and don't vote.

I agree, but people also need a little encouraging news along the way.

Don't worry Repubs, I'm reading that the Romney campaign is being advised by GOP leaders to reinvent himself and his campaign yet again. I'm sure that'll help. Those Etch-A-Sketches are amazing, you can redraw with them thousands of times.

And there's still hundreds of millions of dollars from anonymous PAC donors to buy the most airtime in history for Romney. To bombard the US public with outright lies, deceptive soundbites, dishonest editing, and every manner of trickery, that only the poorly informed, gullible and weak of mind will buy into.

Oh, wait, that describes much of the Romney base - he's already got those votes. Well, maybe all that money, and having an entire TV network, FOX News, pushing Republican propaganda will not be able to turn those poll numbers around after all.

But I know we can expect them to make the old college try, and to be hearing lots more Romney cheerleading from the Republican surrogates right here on our own RJ.

    Yup.
VOTE VOTE VOTE this November 6th.

But spreading the word that President Obama has a good lead in the polls is also a good thing.
Democrats are now MORE enthusiastic than Repubs about voting this November.

The fact that Democratic voters realize that President Obama is likely going to win this election has helped to amp up Democratic enthusiasm.

And it would be great if we could not only win - but win BIG.

President Obama has opened up an eight point lead in another brand new poll:

It's not over until the fat lady sings. Polls mislead voters and encourage complacency.

It's interesting that Republicans are losing voters under 30 by a huge margin of 36 points. Those voters are the future, and unless the Republicans change drastically they're going to be as relevant as the Whig party.
Hey, GOP, maybe it's time to ditch the ugly bigotry against gay Americans and women? Maybe end your war against working people, and ease up on the slavish bootlicking of the 1%?
It turns out the 99% are done with you.

the disappointing part of even a big win by obama is that mitt just gets to go back to his silver spoon life,

it would be much more satisfying if he had to suffer some kind of roman defeat, or be permanently exiled in some way.

Instead of winning four years in the White House - I'd like to see King Mitt and Queen Ann forced to live the next four years in a shack - working a full time job and living on minimum wage.

It would drastically change their perspective.
Maybe they'd even start giving a shit about the 47%.

Such pollings become self-fulfilling prophecies because the donations begin to dry up just when the candidate needs them the most. I think I read recently that Obama greatly out drew Mitt last month.
