For my "Society and Me" group project for college, our group of 5 decided it'd be fun to have "Sex, Sexuality and Society" as our topic.

The leader of our group is doing a brief history of sex and sexuality in society, along with definitions, such as the differences between sex and gender.

I'm, obviously, doing the homosexual part,

    another is doing transgender

4th is doing bisexual and pansexual

    and 5th is doing asexuality

    I think it'll be a fun presentation

Isn't any one doing heterosexuality ... I mean we didn't go through that whole 60's, 70's sex revolution for nothing icon_cool.gif

    so..what's your question?..
Usually to get a forum going there has to be at least one interactive objective..

    Anyhoo..who is covering Heterosexuality?

not really asking a question, just sharing... though if anyone knows any good sources of info to share thatd be nice

i think if asexuality is gonna be short we're gonna add a little bit of hetero on him

A good resource for you is Michel Foucault's History of Sexuality - a very interesting read, but at times quite hard to follow Foucault, likely from complex topics being translated to English.

You should be able to find the book easily in your library.

I know an asexual couple enjoying their relationship together for about 30 years. I hardly think their interactions any less complex than other orientations. Aside from working locations and bedtime, the two are never apart from each other and in many ways probably they are more intimate with each other than many couples who orgasm together. I wouldn't short change them off the bat.

being "short" is no excuse to be asexual...(not that I would know or anything.)

We actually talked about something relevant this in my sociology class yesterday. I guess a sociologist Laud Humphreys, in the 60's, conducted an experiment where he went undercover as a lookout for men who were having anonymous sex with each other in public restrooms. He wrote their license plate numbers and tracked them down later and found out most of them were married with kids, living "normal" lives. You should check this out:
