Found my friends partner on this dating site

My friend has been seeing a really great guy for the past couple months now. At first it was long distance since he had to relocate for work. He has since begun the process to move to the same city, although they are not getting a place together. I recently found him actually on this site, even though I just joined myself since I moved here as well. My friend is a really great guy, like really great, we've been friends for so long and I think the world of him.

The guy hes dating is great as well, or so I thought. I recently found him on this site and I do not know what to do. I always tell my friend everything, but I don't want to interfere with his relationship. I also don't want him to discover this on his own and end up having his heart broken. He tells me stories all the time about how much he has fallen for him and when I see them together I can't help but be in awe. They look like they are so much in love.

On his profile it doesn't say anything about wanting to hook up or anything and just finding friends, but I mean lets just be honest. Most of the people on here are looking for one thing and I can only imagine the conversations he has with other guys on here and also in the chat rooms. I honestly don't want to believe he is cheating on my friend, even emotionally since he is such an emotional person.

I just want to know in your guys opinion should I tell him about him being on this site? Is it really my place? I don't want to become a wedge but he doesn't deserve to be considered only an option when he considers him a priority. I just moved here to Toronto and don't know anyone myself so I want to throw it out there. Let me know what you guys think.

    Ciao

How old is his profile on the site? Is it possible that he created it a long time ago, before he met your friend? In any case, I wouldn't get involved in this. You don't know what this guy's motives are. Maybe he's not committed to your friend yet, but maybe he'll change his mind with time, and you wouldn't want to ruin that by jumping to conclusions and calling him out. It takes time to form a bond with someone. If you feel like you have to do something, just keep an eye on the profile for any changes.

Not everyone is looking to hookup. Not here, or even on Grindr, though both are fairly saturated with people who do, which is fine. Personally, I would hate that sort of intrusion. If the guy was silly enough to proposition you through the website, then sure, otherwise I don't think you have any right monitoring him just being here.

You don't know anything about this site, and you're already making judgements and crying wolf.

    Can the drama dude.

Stop projecting your own slutty intentions onto others; you're being overly presumptuous with nothing to back it up in the slightest.

This site actually is pretty damn social, genuinely, more so than any other gay networking site i've ever been aware of/a member of.

Why don't you message the guy in question a simple 'hey - fancy bumping into you here' message, and if he doesn't hide/delete his profile after receiving said message, that should tell you something.

The latter. I guess after reading the replies he felt... sheepish.

Wait, was he talking about RJ? The title said "this dating site", and I certainly don't see RJ that way, and the rest of the time he calls it "this site". Also seems weird that he'd post his dilemma on RJ if he found the guy ... on RJ. Damn you lazy writers and your ambiguous demonstrative adjectives.

He was talking about RJ. And why if this is such a trashy dating site, would he go through all the trouble to make an account to axe this question? He even had plenty of (fake) pics up.

Something smells fishy. And it's not the thing between my legs....

I have come to conclude that whoever post these "styled" OP's is a more prominent RJ'er.

Why inject yourself into a purely personal situation? If your friend's boyfriend is cheating, your friend will find out ultimately. Leave it alone. Also, some people have an intimate arrangement that not even their closest friends know. For all you know, your friend may already be aware of his boyfriend's profile (or indiscretions, if any) and may well be OK with it. Maybe they have a special arrangement to which you're not privy. Who knows?

RJ isn't a dating site, isn't it? I just don't get the impression that it is a dating site and I see it at just a social or chat site. If the op was referring to finding his friend's bf here, I don't get his drama. This place isn't Manhunt, A4A or like any other hookup site.

This post about "this site" is evidence of a jump-to-conclusions kinda person who doesn't have balanced analysis logic skills. First off, this is the ONLY fitness oriented gay men's lifestyle site I have ever found, plus it helps me keep fitness on my mind to keep my motivation up. Secondly, profiles are like electronic "my name is" stickers that introduce what your fitness interests on here. Your relationship status says pretty clearly where you stand. Thirdly, there are no checkboxes like the fitness inerests for what are you into: Rimming, DP, Threesomes, Top, Bottom, etc.
When I try to praise this site to my friends, they scoff and call it a hookup site. I try to explain that for me, this is the only place I can go to communicate with other fitness-minded gay men and about gay issues and relationsip issues, and yes even sexual issues, isn't that part of health and mental health anyway, too? Also, I think it is so wrong for gay people-of all people-to jump to conclusions and be closed minded.

If you're missing something, you probably didn't need to bring it... no, for the most part, this site isn't a dating site. icon_cool.gif
