    Without a democratically elected local government, the corporations would simply privatize the functions of the state. It would be a corporate state. And since there is no economic democracy in capitalism, a city ruled by corporations is complete and total tyranny.

    Yep, the only reason corporations would want to get involved in that level would be if they could profit from it even more by doing so. Imagine a city where everything was based purely on maximizing profits.

    It will be interesting to see which corporations jump on board to this.
