OK for him but not for me.

I saw the thread on "Would you date a guy who wears make-up" and similar threads and it occurred to me that there are things I will easily accept in a guy that I would not do myself.

For example: I would never get a tattoo although that would never be a something that would be required of someone I was with in the sense that it would be a deal breaker. In this instance as well [tattoo] I have known guys that are inked and look hot, so I'm not merely saying it's a tolerance issue but rather acceptance.

The other aspect is that sometimes these attributes, (tattoos, makeup, facial hair, etc.) may have limits or levels or margins of acceptance. Again, as an example, makeup: I don't care one way or the other so long as it doesn't look like he's wearing makeup.

I'm only referring here to personal choice attributes and not unchangeable ones like height or race, both which are both irrelevant to me and this question.

What's OK for the guy you are (or want to be) with, but not acceptable for yourself?

I'm okay with guys with tattoos, and have thought about getting one myself (though not till I'm 100% sure I want one)
Facial hair is always a plus for me. But if it gets too long, it becomes a turn off for me. I usually have light stubble, I'm just not used to it yet, but I'm open to having a short beard too.
I honestly don't like the idea of make-up at all. I'd definitely avoid someone who wears it. If I didn't know I may be okay with it though. I prefer a guy confident in his own looks. I would never wear make-up but don't mind things like washing your face or trimming your eyebrows. Though I find fuzzy or thick eyebrows to be kinda hot sometimes icon_twisted.gif
Obviously I have my preferences, but if I find a guy thats right, I may be more accepting of their choices.

I was very accepting of my guys choices....
..Bottom line.. is "that" choice affecting our relationship?
    ..If not.. Don't care..

..I dunno..this site has made me realize i am wayyyy more tolerant than I thought i was... icon_neutral.gif

We need to toughen you up a bit. I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but I feel like you are holding back. I wanna see you let loose. Curse someone out!!! Make a troll thread!!! Say something that doesn't look like you planned 2 hours planning it out. Then we will give you a make over. Huh? What do you say????

icon_rolleyes.gif I don't take it as mean and I understand and accept your opinionicon_biggrin.gif. I usually don't hold back when writing. In fact I say alot as seen above. My "letting lose" is obviously different from when you "let loose."

I refuse to use foul language and find that even words like "ass" or "bitch" are horrid. Just typing it i feel like I need to wash my mouth out. It was not until recently that I started using words like "crap" or "hell". (I used to say heck, and still occasionally do)

I personally don't see the point of a troll thread. I prefer straight-forward answers so thats what I give. It actually only takes about 5 min to plan everything out, but I understand you're point. It is valid, and occasionally I do find that one or two sentences is sufficient to respond to a post.

    Um ... I don't think I need a make-over, so .. no thanks ... I do appreciate the offer though.
