    The thing is:

My friends want to hire a stripper for me.
But they are all straight friends of mixed gender.
I am the only gay guy.

    It's kinda weird.

what do you guys think? any better ideas?

Reminds me of when straight lawyers of both genders took a gay associate out and bought him, essentially, this cake:

What is it about a man in marzipan?

Lots of crazy hats and outfits, and some serious bar time.

can you make appointments for the emergency room? you might have a heart attack just saying.

i think you should demand to have a sweet 16-like party and be a total bitch about it

if your friends are throwing you this party, they will hire a gay stripper for you.

if they are throwing a party for themselves, they will hire a straight stripper for themselves.

Start 30 days before you birthday - or if it's too late for that, start on your birthday.

Try something new that you have never done each day for 30 days. Take photos - chronicle it. Then you will have some fun memories to share at your 40th birthday party.

It's always funny how friends are willing to buck up $200 for a stripper but suggest you buy a group gift for the same $$ and the wallets (and especially purses) close.

Point - The stripper is for the frustrated house wives and unless misread your post not for you.... it's a little gift for them and they are using the gay guy's birthday as an excuse to get a stripper.

If it were me I would tell to save the stripper money and put it toward a nice appetizer spread and a round of drinks ...or a group activity you would find memorable.

    My 30th was particularly memorable.

-I went for a long drive alone.
-I enjoyed the company of two of my nieces because they remind me to stay young.
-I gave a presentation on one of my favorite subjects: Spatial Localization in Barn Owls.

    It was a big deal!

Why not do something you won't forget. Something that perhaps doesn't involve partying and such?

Agreed! I was 30 last month and we hired a boat, had a picnic and BBQ and the sun shone down on us, a wonderful , never to be forgotten day!!!! Much nicer then going to some souless bar and getting trashed - I think anyway!
