I would like to thank Austin for consistently being the smart city in Texas. I really do hope in the near future Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio follow suit.
It is time that the State of Texas is not held hostage against all those idiots that live out in the middle of no where.

    Keep Austin Weird.

Houston has to follow. Houston should have been first. Having a gay mayor, Parker needs to do more for the gay/lesbian community in Houston. I feel she could do more. But if any San Anton will follow.

Parker might be a lesbian but many on the city council aren't as warm to the concept..

It would be great if Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, and San Antonio would all accept gay marriage. But the State of Texas has to legislate gay marriage into law in order to do more than just "accept" gay marriage.

It was a symbolic gesture and I'm proud of them for doing it. It is quite funny that the city of Austin is so liberal but the ones that work on Congress Street and in the Capitol are so conservative.

Austin is weird as well as unfriendly and expensive. The gay marriage thing is the first good news to come out of that sprawled out nothing town in who knows how long.
