So who else that has an iPhone that updated it hates the update? It synced all my contacts with facebook so now I have a few different numbers for most of my friends and I have no idea which is which... Irritating...

That and the people that you drunkenly give your number to at the bar... Yeah they can totally Facebook creep you now if they kept your number. Lovely.

    Just had to rant.

You can turn off the Facebool and Twitter sync. Just go through your settings, when you turn that off the extra contacts will go away.

Remember, when in doubt, read the directions.

Has anyone tried this? Apparently, you can downgrade if you happen to have the previous version of itunes.

Windows Phone also does this, but you have the ability to link contacts so that you end up with 1 contact containing all the person's information. Brilliant!

Well you're not forced to sync Facebook into ur contacts, u can just disable it when you enter ur Facebook account.

I liked how it synced everything, I had no idea my best friend's birthday is this Friday, now I do!

Yeah, I keep facebook very minimal, and not synced. What was supposed to happen if 2 independent contact data bases were merged? Unless both sets of data were identical to begin with, this sort of thing was inevitable. "Merge" means combine, not replace.

BTW, regarding the much-maligned maps app, I haven't found many problems for the local tasks I use it. Most addresses are where they should be, and even Google Maps sometimes puts a merchant on the wrong side of the street, or off by a block or 2. Likewise my Garmin GPS, for that matter; it got way off during our trip to Orlando a couple of times.

What I do like, and not sure if Google could do this and I never knew it, is instantly putting all the info for a place into my Contacts. I hate the tedious job of making business contacts, so what I'm doing is finding the places on the map, and clicking on them. Then an option appears to put the address, phone numbers, e-mail and web addy into Contacts.

And they call us Apple users the fanboys... icon_rolleyes.gif

Seems like the fanaticism is mostly on their Android side, like they're trying to convince themselves of their choice more than convince the Apple users.

I haven't had any problems yet. The maps were way over blown, they work well. I don't log into Facebook and Twitter on the settings area, so that might have cause a few problems.
