An email to Gay Days:
"I didn't know it was Gay Days, but I'm very glad I was there on Sunday. I have heard a lot of huff over Gay Days in the past...
What I saw, was a community... people that smiled... that held hands... people enjoying the park. Period. I have two daughters, age 3 and 5, I don't feel the need to say "How am I supposed to explain that to my child"... Because frankly, they don't care. They see people who are friends, they see joy, they see love. I'll tell ya, normally, what we see at Disneyland, is people that are angry... angry at the heat, the lines, the crowds... the person thats different. I've been pushed, run into, yelled at when someone wasn't watching where THEY were walking. I see parents groaning at their kids. Sure, there are happy people, I'm one of them... but, I've never seen so many people holding hands at Disneyland as I did on Sunday... it got me thinking, and made me a little sad.
I'm sure you get lots of hate mail every year, I just wanted to send a smile, and a thank you for having happy people at the park."
