I was doing incline presses yesterday when my elbows locked at the top. My arms gave out and i heard a tearing like velcro in my shoulder...and now my shoulder hurts like a beast.

This means no more flies, no bench press, none of those exercises that feel so damn good.

If I eat a ton of protein will I keep my muscles without exercising them, or will they go away?

    =(

I usually would say do the OPPOSITE of what Joe say but in the case... (I'm kidding Joe)... he is right. Get yourself to a doctor and have it checked out.

My former trainer has had to have both shoulders replaced after tearing them. Most of the damage was done doing behind the neck presses and pull-downs. Despite what some may tell you, do not do those movements. They are damaging and doing them from the front is just as effective.

Thank you for your responses, I will certainly get it checked out and will focus on burning fat and building legs until it's healed icon_smile.gif

I feel for you, I have tennis elbow from too much weight and finally had the doctor look at it, just have to wait it out but feel like I've lost all the muscle gain I was so proud of. Can't do much for the upper body without using the arms. Trying to do shoulders, lower body, crunches and of course cardio. Lots of cardio. Any suggestions on other things would be appreciated too.
