It is a sign that the approval for equal rights goes up and the Catholic church goers falls. Since me coming out all my brothers some uncles, aunts, cousins, parents and even G'ma stop attending church. Times are changing for the good.

If it's good enough for Spain to allow same-sex marriage, then Latin America really should follow the same icon_rolleyes.gif

Just don't follow Spain's economic path, lol.

Wow! I hope that they know that there are churches that do support gay people. I'm not religious but I don't have a problem with other people being so.

My best friend quit Catholicism when I came out, it is also the reason his Mother, my self-proclaimed God Mother stopped attending. The Pope is on the wrong side of this one.

60% of "swing" voters support gay marriage. That's why Obama suddenly went from silent to being fag friendly. We're just political fodder now.

This is very encouraging! I guess that dispels the generalization that all Latinos are "socially conservative" as some TV pundits have stated.

Im suspect. It doesnt say what the sample was or who they were. The margin for error is 5% which is pretty high as polls go.

Well the pope is always on the wrong side! But where money flows the catholic church follows.....wouldn't be surprise if a few years from now the Catholic church starts to be gay friendly...

Well sometimes when you see one thing wrong and you question it...you'll soon start to see everything that has been wrong and still is....

Not that their approval means shit to me, that's a huge number; six out of every ten, and there's what, like 500 million crawling around the border states alone? Lol

Not sure Latinos in the Los Angeles area support gay marriage. I haven't noticed that - instead the opposite.

If that's true why did the majority of Latino voters vote against Prop 8?

It was pretty evenly divided among Latinos at 53% in favor. Blacks favored it by 70% and whites at 49%.

That was four years ago and the biggest change in attitudes towards same-sex marriage has come in the last four years,

Some will and some won't...in every race. These polls are getting increasingly ridiculous.

Yeah, and it's no coincidence that Bush was replaced by Obama in that time period.icon_wink.gif

I recently read that Puerto Rico was revisting the idea of joining the union and becoming the 51st state. If latinos are accepting of gay people, I say make them a state and get them to vote!!!
