This guy today at work was talking about the economy and I was listening but writing at the same time. Suddenly I stopped looked up and realized I really hadn't taken in one single word he had said. I felt really bad. This guy is a really stand-up guy ,the thing is he always talks about .....well really boring things! Aside from that its hard to get a word in edgewise. For some reason at work he always gravitates to me and this is something that has kinda been a pattern in my life. I don't have the heart to tell him he is boring me to tears. Any suggestions?

Right when he begins to work up a lather, interrupt rudely and bring up something from completely out of left field: "Did you watch Spongebob/Squarepants the other night? The one where the lobster and the pineapple..." He'll be back to his cubicle in less than 60 seconds. Do it every time and he'll slow his roll eventually.

Or, you could just dial up I.A.T.O.W.K.'s phone number and hand the phone to your buddy. icon_razz.gif

I think that's just general bum mentality - they will swarm you if they ever get in proximity with a non-bum citizen.

Some people just glaze over when it comes to finance and economics. I know, I'm one of them. And I actually spend quite a lot of time studying the subjects, trying to understand them. But if there's any subject that'll put me to sleep, it's money.
