Hi all,
My treadmill arrived today. Yay! I can't use it though as I've got a bit of a cold and I'm wrecked from work. Don't want to be having a 'thrown through the wall' kind of accident!
I just thought that seeing as I may have plenty of time to recover, I would ask what tracks to you guys listen to while running? I've thought of the usual 'Eye of the Tiger' and what-have-you. Not my style though.
Any ideas for high energy tracks to keep me going.
Maybe I won't even hear them anyway if I'm going hard at it and my ears start to bleed! Lol!

I've put together a workout mix that includes a lot of high energy, fast tempo songs. Most of it is heavy metal or heavy new rock like My Chemical Romance, White Stripes, Green Day, Weezer, Smashing Pumpkins, The Hives, and Rise Against.

Those kind of songs just give me energy to exert myself at a high level and an adrenaline rush that makes me oblivious to any pain.

For just running, I've been pumping Teddy Thompson's "A Piece of What You Need". The whole album keeps you paced pretty perfectly, and the beats are good running speed. Footfalls and drums align and all is well.

For me, I find some of the best tracks for running are the same ones I have for when I'm doing school work (art major) where I get some dancy/trancy/rapish tracks in a foreign language, so that I can get caught up by the beat, but not fully understanding the lyrics lets me concentrate on other things. i.e.: Aymui Hamasaki,Pizzicato Five, Deichkind, t.A.T.u.; or, of course, the old English language stand-bys: Britney (she might be a crazy slot machine, but she can release a good beat), Aqua, Beastie Boys, Daft Punk, MoS, Radio Soulwax, Fischerspooner, Pussycat Dolls, etc... I have a bit of everything, so if you can provide some examples of what you like, I can probably set you up with some new track ideas

There is a perfect workout mix, its actually designed for a run, warm up and warm down included. Its really amazing how well its put together, though its mostly for those who like electronic music. Its by Crystal Method and its called drive, here's a link. It was a partnership between crystal method and nike
