Rob Zombie's films are an acquired taste. I enjoy his films, yet understand those who don't.

However for those who don't, this new horror film of his, THE LORDS OF SALEM, is the complete ANTITHESIS of his previous horror films. It's quite - "artsy" & bizarre.

From reviews of the premiere at a film festival, those who don't really enjoy his films LOVED it, & those whom are huge fans of his previous films didn't "get" it.

Its said if you're a fan of David Lynch, Dario Argento, Roman Polanski & 70's style horror cinema (like me!), you'll love it.

    Can't wait.

Heidi, a rock radio dj, receives a mysterious wooden box containing a vinyl record , a gift of the Lords. She assumes it's a rock band on a mission to spread their word. As Heidi plays the Lord's record, it starts to play backwards, and Heidi experiences a flashback to a past trauma (the original witches being burned at the stake in Salem, Mass).

Later, White plays the Lord's record, dubbing them the Lords of Salem, and to his surprise, the record plays normally and is a massive hit with his listeners.

From this point forward, she begins experiencing wild demonic hallucinations that are plaguing her from a past she doesn't recall, as well as becomes alarmed of some of the tenants in her apartment building.

The "Lords" are coming & they are out for blood.

From what I've read it reminds me of Rosemary's Baby & The Sentinel.

    I'll be watching this !

I really like Rob Zombie's work. I know he got majorly slated for his Halloween remakes however he is a talented director with a great visual eye. I mean The Devil's Rejects is one the best modern horror films in recent memory, kinda like a Texas Chainsaw for the 00's.

I do wish he would stop casting his wife in all of his films though. I get it, she's his hot piece so she gets to be in his movies but considering the fact he could cast a random actress in her role who could actually act their way out of a fucking plastic bag it's a bit of a liberty.

He gets better with each movie he makes. This one looks great. It's very 70's and Italian.

I love his music but I really don't like his movies icon_confused.gif

Hellbilly Deluxe was one of his greatest albums - now that's a MOVIE! I always thought his movies would be a mixture of old horror flicks with a modern twist but his movies are just mixed with serial killer meets trailer trash.

This. I thought his Halloween remakes were insipid and uninspired. There was only one good Halloween movie, and that was the original.

I just discovered you can buy the entire White Zombie discography on iTunes in one purchase. There were demos and early albums I could never find when back in the day. El Sexorcisto hit me like mack truck when it came out in the early 90's. Even going to a ton of Grateful Dead show, raves and industrial/alternative acts, this was something special. I loved the engineering on the drums, the album was so fresh and different sounding from the metal/hard rock at that time. I wore out probably 4 tapes.

    I finally know true love!

I mean, this is essentially what I see in the dark voids behind my eyelids when I close them.
