    Dear RJers,

I am looking for fly to Poland at the end of this month. The likely cities I will target are Krakow, Gdansk, Wroclaw. Does anyone have any recommendations in terms of where to go and what to see? Restaurants, bars, scenic spots?

    Thanks!

Wow, what a wonderful trip. We were planning to go there but put it off. Warsaw, as you probably know, was totally destroyed by the Nazis, but lot of the historic buildings were painstakingly rebuilt and refurnished. I'd love to see that. Cracow was not damaged much by the war, at least architecturally, and it is supposed to be very lively and beautiful. The palace is where Poish kings lived for centuries. Wroclaw is supposed to be very beautiful too. Enjoy!

I'd recommend the mountains, the very south! Go to Zakopane for great sights and genuine, local folklore.

it sounds monstrous, but you must do a day trip to Auschwitz . . . and don't miss Jasna Gora . . the noon mass is beyond words
