Don't wear compression shorts on squats day. It's hard enough to squat without binding your hips in tight elastic! Pack your Under Armour boxer briefs. They do the job perfectly.

Love Paul's idea, but unfortunately not practical in a public gym.

Anyhoodle, why would you wear compression shorts unless you were running? Really long and far.

I dunno. My trainer told me to when I started after cancer therapy. I never thought to ask. And I've worn them ever since.

As far as I know the sausage casing only cuts down the chafing when you run or bicycle long distances and causes less water swirls for swimmers than speedos (and look so boring icon_rolleyes.gif )

I have no idea but I thought there was something about muscle recovery cuz it keeps them all tight. But come to think of it, if I'm not working the glutes quads what good would they do. Anyway, I've just always worn them. Maybe the legs and butt are growing and they becoming too tight.

I threw out all of my compression shorts. They were fantastic when I first started running, especially on sprint days. But my legs got too big and the compression shorts started to cut off my circulation.

On leg days, I just wear UA sport briefs and a pair of plain mesh athletic shorts. Running splits are also great for leg days. They have a built-in brief/liner and the split outseam allows for more range of motion.

I think I'm ready to retire the compression shorts and move on to the UA boxer briefs. I don't need to be fighting my clothes when I'm trying to exercise.
