So I'm going to try and update this regularly with quotes and teachings from Sri Sri - my favourite teacher, I hope that people find them useful. Jai Gurudev

"There is not a single person on this planet whose heart is empty.
Every heart is full of love, but it is covered.
Don't be afraid - you will never lose your Love.
Love can never disappear from you, because you are Love.
Joy can never go away from you, because you are joy.
You are Love. You are Peace. You are fulfillment.
Only a cloud comes, hail comes, to cover it -
and this hail is made up of stresses and strain.

Events cannot stick on to you.
You are like the pure crystal - Niranjanah,
untouched, unstained by anything.

In your innermost self - in it's purity and clarity,
you are not different from God.

You are total, you are full.
You have all that you neeed.
Do not underestimate yourself.

Beautiful.

I'm not familiar with Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. He sounds like he is from the Advaita camp, but possibly Vajrayana. A little bio on him, from you, would be great. Thank you again for the beautiful words.

He's the founder of the Art of Living Foundation - one of the largest non profit organisations in the World, they do an incredible amount of good work around the World - more on him here http://www.srisri.org/ and here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sri_Sri_Ravi_Shankar.

I did the Art of Living course and although the Hindi base of the teaching is a little strange to Westerners sometimes, it's probably the best thing I ever did.

Taught me how to meditate properly and really set me on the path (which I'm constantly veering off into the bushes of course and coming out with scratches and bruises, but that's part of life.. lol) - the teachers are something else, beautiful people.

Here's another one for Friday

"You are holding your fist tight.
Open your hands and you'll see the whole sky is in your hands.

The more you beg, the more you crave for something,
the further away it goes.
And the moment you drop it and just repose the Self,
you'll find all those things come, manifold.

What do we see in the world today?
Everyone is moving towards joy, but people are not joyful.
They are miserable, because they are clinging on to the sense objects
rather than the source of joy.

All that you are craving for, all that you are hanging on to,
it comes to you anyway.
But you have to let go.

Love is that phenomenon of total letting go."

Doubt is the unfulfilled state of mind,
that state of mind where it is not fully alive.
Doubts arise when we are body-bound,
when we are not aware of the life within.
Answers cannot satisfy doubt.
Only prana can eliminate doubt.

When someone says "I love you," you doubt them.
"Do you really?" you ask them.
But if someone is angry at you, you never ask them,
"Are you really mad at me?"

Doubt and trust are two sides of the same coin,
but put them in their right places.
Doubt the badness of people - no one is really bad.
