I met her a long time ago. And my Dad hung out with her brother when he was a teenager in the San Fernando Valley.

Who is Sally Fields and why have her breast implants migrated up to her cheeks?

She just radiates positivity. Her son is really cute too icon_wink.gif

The audience at that gig is a bit scary though. They are all mostly white twinkly eyed carbon copies.

I understand it completely. It's called ideological hostage-taking, and using people as political human shields.

lol, proof you don't understand at all. Thanks for the clarification of this. icon_wink.gif

Sally Field has always been a bit too saccharine for my tastes. Going all the way back to when I first saw her doing Gidget as a teeny airhead, and then The Flying Nun on TV, a thoroughly ridiculous exploitation of entertainer nuns who had a brief vogue in the US in the mid-1960s.

Except... Field turned out to be a very competent actor once she lost the nun's habit. I guess 2 Academy Awards and an Emmy is competent? With a genuineness and believability that few other entertainers have. And beyond that, a truly nice person, another exception in Hollywood.

So here she is again, doing the decent thing, on the right side of an issue. Still a bit too cutesy for me, but then who am I to judge? For her it works, and I think the world would be a better place with a few more like her. Whether about gay rights or the many other good things with which she's been associated.

"If the mothers ruled the world, there would be no goddamn wars in the first place!"

The line that was censored from her 2007 Emmy Award acceptance speech.

Hell, what's wrong with being cutesy and wholesome like Sally Fields. The world could use a lot more people like her... instead of jaded, cynical back-stabbing social climbers.

Those bastards! I wish there were more cool people like Sally. I saw her in Forrest Gump or Mrs Doubtfire. Gosh, since then she doesn't age. She's like a good old wine.
