Yes, there was already a thread on this but wondering if anyone has tried this recently and can give some feedback. Info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dimethyltryptamine

A few guys I know have tried it. One was apparently taken onto an alien craft and lived on it for what he said felt like a week or so. LOL. This stuff is intense to say the least. But the pineal gland can trigger the release of it.

I have, from smoking concentrated formulations of Syrian Rue (legal). That stuff is so strong, you trip your balls off for about three minutes. It was too intense for me, it was kind of scary.

I am in a process of preparing the mixture Ayahuasca, we will do it next week.

Yet we are working with Iboga and Ibogaine, the most transformative plant.

this is the forum I use for Iboga

    and dmt

I let you know how it went.

I've done this once. What happened, essentially, was a minute or so of sharp, crystal clear geometric visions. It started off like bright white squares arranged in a grid and then the shapes became more complex, the best I can compare it to is looking at the pixels move in a black and white movie. It wasn't particularly earth shattering but I need to up the dose.

I've done it six times. It took me a long time to integrate my experiences on it with my understanding of this life. I wasn't sure if I believed in God or an afterlife before I used it and now I do.

The first time I did it, I did it wrong. I didn't know you were supposed to let your eyes close, so I didn't blast off, but I did see some crazy things. It looked as though the air in the room had separated into many layers of thin glass, each layer very slightly tinted a different color. I noticed some layers had slowly moving edges and then I recognized that the layers contained beings and they were all around me. They were nude women with cartoonish features and they were posing in very suggestive/lewd positions as if they were beckoning me to have sex with them. Of course, I found all this very odd considering I had no sexual attraction to women.

Second time I did it, I broke through. I was transported through a web of slowly turning fractals to what seemed like a giant cave in which every surface was encrusted by one inch jewels. It was so bright and there was so little contrast that it was difficult to tell the difference between what was right in front of me and what was in the distance. Eventually, my "eyes" adjusted and I noticed I was surrounded by a herd of cats. They couldn't sit still. They were playfully running and jumping all over everything. They made toys that broke the laws of physics and gave them to me. One of the cats took me aside and told me that he knew the guy I was doing DMT with was my friend, but that we were better friends.

Then suddenly, they were gone and I was inside a sphere of insect eyes. The eyes separated out into individual insects. The closest thing I can relate their appearance to is a giant preying mantis, but this doesn't accurately describe their strangeness. Oddly enough, I wasn't scared of them. I could sense a benevolence from them and knew that they wanted to help me. There were three central leaders standing in front of a crowd of a few dozen of them. We were in a massive golden glowing room with pillars everywhere... it almost seemed like a Gothic cathedral. The ceiling was an inverted dome and I soon recognized that it was Earth; we were in a room suspended beneath Earth. There was a glowing honey-like substance dripping off of the globe. The three central mantises were holding their arms out and allowing the honey to collect on them and then they would hold their arms above their heads and allow it to drip into their mouths. They laughed at their gluttony and the abundance of the substance. They told me the glowing honey was human energy and that we are like cattle to them. They also told me they were the gate keepers of life and death and responsible for deciding who will ascend to a higher state of consciousness after they die. They also said they were responsible for many of Earth's ancient religions and prophetic texts.

This next part was what made my experience so difficult to integrate, and I'm sure it may offend some of you and I wouldn't blame anyone for it, but it's the truth of what I experienced:

They told me I shouldn't worry about ascending when I die; that I should enjoy all the pleasures of this life because I wasn't going to have a child and contribute to their food supply. They said my genetic code was my name, and that I must create a life in order to have my name written in the Book of Life.

I told them I didn't like that... that I wanted to ascend when I die. When I did that they surrounded me and began piercing my form with their arms. They pulled code out of me and held it up in front of me. They told me, "This is something unhealthy you have learned". They then broke it down, like they were working on a formula and held it front of me again, "This is why it's unhealthy" and then they erased and told me "And that's how we're getting rid of it". They did this over and over again cleaning up the information that makes up my being.

Then I woke up and I felt as though I had been through years of therapy.

DMT is definitely that. I would not suggest doing it in a party atmosphere. If you go into it with the wrong mindset, they will fuck you up. I believe "bad" people experience hell because they are shown so much bad about themselves that they can't handle it.

Yeah, scientists have detected elevated levels of DMT in schizophrenics. To me, it seems that DMT thins the veil that separates this world from the next. I can't imagine it would be enjoyable to be visited by DMT entities on a constant basis.

can you plese give us references for this. So far I know it actually heals the serotonin passages, and the users of the church of Santo Daime have healther and more active serotonin connections.

The myth that plants "cause" mental disease is out of fashion, there is absolutly no evidence for this.

I think you are mixing it with PCP, angel dust:

    in wiki
Phencyclidine (a complex clip of the chemical name 1-(1-phenylcyclohexyl)piperidine), commonly initialized as PCP and known colloquially as angel dust or wet, is a recreational dissociative drug. Formerly used as an anesthetic agent, PCP exhibits both hallucinogenic and neurotoxic effects.[

Recreational doses of the drug can also induce a psychotic state that resembles schizophrenic episodes which can last for months at a time with toxic doses

I'm not saying it causes schizophrenia. I'm not a scientist. I was just saying it's possible there's a link. If apc135 doesn't want to use it because he fears that potential link, then I think it's a good idea for him to steer clear. DMT isn't for everyone. I've had friends who tried it and hated it and others who loved it like I did. It's not suggested for control freaks or those with anxiety. I think it takes openness and trust to experience a good trip.

Here's a list of several papers published on the subject:

    Hi abm 1985,

I first of all want to congratulate you on your work with Ayahuasca. It is a brave thing to do, and you had great benefit. I hope you are continuing to work with Aya.

Yet, I do want to say that the link, that I bookmarked and want to read in depth, actually proves opposite of what you are saying. Also Aya is good for those with anxiety disorders. There are many clinics healing addictions with Aya, and even more with Ibogaine.

I think we are at the time to start learning more form plants, getting right protocols for the usage, and simply benefit the clearing of the mind they offer. Alcohol being one of the most dangerous drugs, and even marijuana, are confusing the work on the clearing the mind.

Yet the politics of USA, DEA, and illegalization even for scientific usage is keeping us in the middle ages of mental darkness.

I think it IS for everyone, only with the right preparation, it is the door to open for the better use of therapy, yoga or zen.

I've heard of and read about people smoking concentrated DMT and 'tripping' from it. If that's what you have in mind, then I can't comment.

I can tell you that ayahuasca (banisteriopsis caapi brewed slowly with psychotria viridis) can have a life-altering effect; the experience lasts many hours, not the several minutes that pure DMT evidently creates, and the caapi vine brings about a very, very intense psychological self-exploration. If you're looking for a recreational, fun experience, then ayahuasca is not going to give you what you want. It demands a significant investment of time and energy and concentration.

Wow. My first post on this forum. SURPRISED to find *this* topic. And I see there was an earlier thread. I'll have to look for it later.

My recent experience mentioned toward the bottom...

My first DMT (n,n not 5-meo) experience was in an apartment in Chicago, April, 1967. I was 19 years old, a freshman in college, and was at a party with the first out gay man I'd ever met (he being 28 ). Most of the people at the party were college age or older.

In what was meant to be the dining room (no furniture but cushions and pillows) sat a circle of guys (well, mostly guys). They were smoking something. I had smoked pot a couple times and was interested in psychedelics but hadn't tried any yet.

"Hey kid, wana try some of this?" One guy asked holding up a small glass vile containing some small, waxy, yellowish amber crystals. I asked what it was and he handed it to me to sniff. “DMT,” he said. I was all for it. I'd read about DMT in the "Psychedelic Review." Leary and Alpert had done some research with it at Harvard using intramuscular injection. DMT has a very distinct indole aroma. Hard to explain but if you ever smell it you’ll never forget it.

In those days we didn't have 'free base' pipes. Not that I ever saw, anyway. So, it took two people to get one off.

I sat down on the floor in the circle and the guy proceeds to explain what I need to do. The guy to my left is going to hold a small cone of aluminum foil, while my instructor, to my right, flames it from underneath, getting the DMT to melt and fume. My job is to use a cut-off plastic soda straw to suck the fumes into my lungs. "It's going to taste like a combination of burning plastic and human shit," he warned. "But you gotta suck it in and not cough it all out. But, soon after your first hit, blow it out and suck in another. Do it three times if you can." That last was said with a bit of a chuckle.

It might help to know I wasn't a particularly sophisticated 19 yo. I'd grown up in rural Indiana and gone to high school on east coast Florida. No big cities. However, I was rapidly becoming a part of a bohemian/hippy crowd in Chicago, mostly students from the Art Institute and the University of Chicago. To me it was exotic and an adventure. I was quickly becoming one of the people my parent’s had warned me about.

My tutor taps a few small crystals into the cone and proceeds to put a flame under it. I can see it melt and bubble and he tells me to suck in the fumes. GAAACK he was right. It DID taste EXACTLY like a combination of burning shit and plastic! Not that I'd ever tasted the two but this was exactly what they would taste like.

I blew out my first hit and sucked in the second. I already felt a tad weird but couldn't tell you how. The world as we know it was already receding at light speed but my mind had yet to catch up with that observation. I got that hit out and started on the third draw when suddenly I found myself doubled over in excruciating pain. It was like someone had punched me right in my gut. Time had slowed down and my mind was suddenly very very clear, watching all this as if from a distance. I was both in and outside my body, doubling over in pain.

One clear thought (common to folks in their first DMT flash) shot through my head: "Oh, fuck, you've REALLY done it this time! You’re gona fuckn' die!"

But just as that marvelous insight was 'registering' in my mind, my torso began spasming backward in the opposite direction. And just as my spine was totally vertical, a lightening bolt shot up through it into my brain, splashing on the inside of my scull like a white star-burst firework on July 4th. As the sparkles cascaded down inside my scull, filtering through every synapse of my brain, it was like every cell, ever molecule, every atom of my body was shimmering in shades of white, yellow, pink and lavender. Holly FUCK! “I” was outside space, outside time. Nowhere and everywhere all at once.

The next thing I know, I'm lying on the floor with my legs and arms outstretched laughing my ass off as wave after wave of energy rush pulsed out of my body. It was very much like having an orgasm, curled toes and all, but, strangely, with nothing particularly erotic about it. Cosmic, definitely. Erotic, not so much.

To me (an otherwise very serious boy), it was a HOOT! I'd never laughed so hard in my life. It was sort of like riding a psychedelic roller coaster or, better, being shot out of a psychedelic cannon. BAM! It is all over in a matter of minutes but what goes on between the beginning and end can take eons.

I once spent a weekend with Terence McKenna who said, "DMT. Huh. There should be headlines in the news papers: "HYPERSPACE GATEWAY FOUND!" LoL!

That wonderful 'summer of love' I had the privilege of taking DMT several more times. The way we did it, though, was to sprinkle some on a joint being rolled, then pass the J back and forth between two people. Usually by the third toke you found yourself transported to another realm while suspended in timeless, transparent jello. There was no need to take any more. The THC sort of softened the chaotic, fractal (we didn't have that word yet) edges of things and made it a bit more like psilocybin.

In more recent years what I've had access to isn't the lab made stuff but the extract -- which I don't find as potent. For whatever reason, I've never encountered 'entities' in my DMT trips; at least not the way abm1985 describes in his beautiful post. I both kinda wish I did and simultaneously am glad I haven't! LoL.

I've always been a mystic. Even in childhood tripping out into 'altered states' ("on the natch" as McKenna would say) was a very common thing for me. Even in my teens I communed with the gods via private rituals on hot summer nights beneath full moons. icon_razz.gif Lunatic here!

My advice for anyone thinking about it: NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART!

You know, one of the problems with our contemporary age is we hear SO MUCH hype about shit it is difficult when something like DMT and other psychedelics come along and the REALITY far surpasses the hype. Assuming, that is, a) good quality product, b) adequate dosage, c) proper setting and d) adequate preparation. If those factors are met I can almost guarantee your expectations will be surpassed. Miss any one, however, and you could regret it. Possibly for the rest of your life. Be warned.

    How's that for a first post? icon_twisted.gif

You hung out with Terence McKenna?! I'm very jealous.

That was a wonderful first post. Coincidentally, I'm studying at the Art Institute of Chicago now, although, I have yet to find high quality DMT since I've been here. Everything here is a muddy orange color. A friend made a big batch of it back home in Oklahoma and he definitely knew what he was doing. It was so pure, it was off white and when you vaporized it, there was no residue at all.

I lived in Venice, CA for a year and while I was there tried almost every well-known drug once. None of them lived up to the hype. That is until I found DMT. It was exactly the experience I had been looking for all along.

re McKenna: Yep. Not sure of the date, 1995? It was in a casual academic setting. A 3-day weekend of him ranting about 'ethno botanicals' or some such. The man was a genius, IMO. I've met a few and he was definitely one of them. Slightly insane, too, but that often seems to go w/ the territory.

Sounds like you had the 'good stuff'. I'm jealous icon_razz.gif I don't run in the right circles any more so it is very rare in my experience.

Yeah, I was a student at the Institute of Design, IIT back in those heady days. I wanted to go to the AI but my parents wouldn't have it. So ID-IIT was the compromise.

Actually, orange DMT is not necessarily a bad thing. You can recrystalize it yourself if you're not sure about its purity, but it is believed on forums anyway that the orange crystals (nicknamed "jungle spice") consist of other psychoactive compounds which are still unknown. I should point out that it all goes into the Ayawashcha preparation anyway, so I'd say the relation between that and DMT is sort of like the relation between THC and weed.

This thread and the stories really make me want to try DMT again ... this time i won't be a pussy and take three solid hits ...

Wow, interesting posts. Since my last post, I've read more on the Pineal gland and de-calcifying it. Apparently fluoride and other environmental toxins really screw it up. I've cut all fluoride and added some supplements.

I really agree with Joe Rogan when he says that talking about DMT to an everyday average person will most likely turn into a "drugs are bad" lecture. Instead of escaping daily life because it's too much for a person to handle, DMT, based on what I've heard and from the previous posts is like a life changing experience. However, like some of you have said, it isn't for everyone and has the potential to keep you in that state and turn you into a schizo.

Anyone know of natural plant based sources of DMT, instead of buying a chemistry set and making it yourself?
