.....then the Mayans were right and it's the END OF THE WORLD.

But seriously, these new poll numbers have gotten me so depressed. If Romney wins, I think I'll need to join a support group to help me get through the grieving process, so that I can enjoy life again.icon_neutral.gif

Or maybe I'll just become an alcoholic....

If Romney wins, it will be the end of the world for gays. He'll make sure of that.

Calm down...It's not going to be the end of the world regardless of who wins.

As one who in my adult life somehow managed to survive 8 years of Reagan, 4 years of Bush 41 and 8 years of Bush 43, that much we can agree on.icon_wink.gif

You survived, but not everyone did.... A lot of gay rights activists believe that Reagan's lack of response to the AIDS crisis allowed the epidemic to blow up much bigger than it had to.

I don't know if people still hold him responsible for that, but I distinctly remember being a kid in that era and fearing for my life, and thinking no one with any authority supported gay people.

Complacency breeds apathy, so it is good to see the race tightening up a bit. I think it is going to be an exciting election night.

Well, that is true. I'm not saying the election s not important, it is. But you can't panic if we lose. We can't win 'em all, unfortunately.

Romney was the most moderate candidate that could have ever gotten on the GOP ticket in terms of his priorities and social issues like gay rights. He is paying lip service when it comes to the gay issues but will either completely not even touch the issue or secretly advance acceptance.
