  Just stumbled across this song and can't get over it!!! Purchased IMMEDIATELY!! This hit a chord with me hard and I'll be listening to this a lot. The message is powerful and touching.

  this was already posted at some point but OP took it down since im the only one who commented. yeah its pretty amazing. Actually Macklemore is even more amazing for being straight and having the courage to write this.

  yes sir, he is. went to one of the best high schools as well, Garfield High School. He's an excellent artist and has been around for a while. I was excited to hear his song "Thrift Shop" on the radio ...definitely check it out, unlike the heavy political relevance of Same Love, it's more making light of the fact of being broke and being creative with attire. very entertaining haha.
  
  Anyway, agreed, big props to Macklemore for supporting marriage equality and also to his fans for supporting him support it.

  Yeah, "Thrift Shop" is the reason I was looking up his stuff. Then I listened to "Same Love" and was blown away. Watched a bunch of YouTube videos of him doing live shows and radio appearances on KEXP. He's good. I also like, "Can't Hold Us"....great beat!
