Just received a "donation call" from the Romney-Ryan campaign here at my office.. I grabbed the phone when I saw the caller ID. What do you think I said?

Since they were your employees, who might feel intimidated regarding their own political attitudes to hear what yours are, you could have said:

"I'm sorry, I don't discuss or conduct political matters in my business office. Thank you for your call, and please remove this business number from your call list." If it was a robocall then just hang up.

And I would have done the same thing with an Obama call. You can later go online to donate to either candidate, just as I have. (For Obama, naturally)

I live in a swing state. At home, we get several of these calls a day, from both sides. After a while it's just tiresome.

hahahaha.. good answers and some good points.

Since it was at my office, I just pointed out that this is a financial office and that I'm the Principal for the office and we can't have calls of this nature at this establishment.. and for them to take me off their list.

The caller then ask if I would like to make personal donation.......

My response... "I already did... for another 4 years".. Thanks!

Not WHEN but HOW MUCH? Did you send a check or just put the donation on a credit card? I hope you gave generously icon_wink.gif

Exactly what I had expected from a professional office.

We're mainly getting calls, e-mail & postal mail from the Democrats at our residence. Not surprising, considering the organizations we belong to, and have supported in the past.

I'm kinda sorry we aren't getting more Republican material, which would help to waste their campaign budget. Unfortunately their contact list filters must be sophisticated enough to know with whom they haven't got a chance.

"I'm sorry, but Hallowe'en is still three weeks away."

    or

"We already gave to the Gay Separatist Movement, you know, where we take all your first-born and sacrifice them to St Priapus."

    or

"Hello, are you the one who ordered a pizza with the works and anchovies?"

    Donation caller: " Er, no..."

"Then you have the wrong number. Do have a nice day."
