    Hello gentlemen!

I was just curious, who here wet-shaves!? icon_biggrin.gif

    Wet-Shaving-Kit-300x199.jpg

I'd venture to guess that some of you dont know what Wet Shaving is. I didnt really know up untill about a year ago, but I had some ideas because of the movies and my grandad.

I made the switch about 9 months ago, and couldnt be happier. Its much more pleasant, very enjoyable, and not to mention CHEAPER.

If you dont wet shave here's a great introduction by "The Art of Manliness."
    http://artofmanliness.com/2008/01/04/how-to-shave-like-your-grandpa/

I figured I'd bring this up, to see who here does wet-shave, as well as to hopefully make some converts to wet-shaving. (Trust me gentlemen, its WELL worth the initial investment, and it saves you TONS in the long run.)

Anyway, here's to the start of the topic!

    Cheers! icon_biggrin.gif

I shave in the shower - that's pretty wet.
Except now I'm growing my Octobeard.
My Dad used a brush, mug and safety razor.
My grandfather lived in a cave -
    Yeah, I'm that old.

I've had some of the best electric shavers - and liked them, but for me - the best shave ever is a wet shave - in the shower. So easy - so close - no mess at the sink or splatter on the mirror to clean up. I brush teeth & floss gums in the shower as well. The whole process now is efficient, quick, clean and I get on with my day much faster.

I dont think you would look stupid. (We are all our own worst critics, of course.) Regardless of that, and as an aside if its not too forward for me to say so, I think you'd be handsome either way. icon_biggrin.gif

I shave in the shower, too.

I have too much white to grow in facial hair at this point.

I've got my grandfather's shaving mug, brush, and safety razor, all of it circa 1940s. I think I used the kit once when I was in my 20s just to give it a try. I may just get that stuff out of the closet again. Thanks for the inspiration. And thanks for reminding me of Grandpa. What a guy. I miss him.

    Hey! You're welcome!
(Yes! Get those things out, go to Amazon.com, and get started!)

I love shaving with what I have now. Its definately more economical and easier on your wallet, and not to mention its healthier for your face, and more pleasant both in smell and feel.

Its well worth the investment, and Its made me enjoy shaving. I used to hate it before.

What is it you dont like about shaving?

Do you get Razor Burn? -- You wont have that with the DE saftey razors!

Do you not like the alchohol-filled gels, that dry out your face?!

-- You wont have to use those with DE shaving, you can get some pretty fantastic shave soaps that are all natural, or even glycerine based. Proraso (an Italian brand) is fantastic!
This is what I use: Its got menthol in it, so it goes on cool, and when you wash it off...HOLY. COW. Its a real treat!

DE shaving is fantastic, I used to hate shaving too, until I invested in the old-timey stuff. icon_biggrin.gif

I wet-shave daily. I prefer this to electric shavers.
