I had an guy at my work tell me some rather interesting things about how pointless it was for me to make a donation to the Susan Komen: For The Cure Foundation, and that science has already found a cure and that the government conspiracy to keep from people won't allow for the simple shot of whatever to be given people... I made sense, but than it didn't... actually couldn't believe what I was hearing to start with... didn't think about it. Then, just now after my brother in law had a cupcake, he said about the same thing... that it's not economically viable for the government to issue any cure for the cancer or any other radical disease... here I am thinking my donation went to make some kind of difference somehow... and I overlooked the fact that there may be a chance its all for nothing.

Correct me if I'm wrong, please... what do you guys think? icon_eek.gificon_confused.gificon_eek.gificon_confused.gif

I think if some company has found a cure, they'll market it. Simply too much money at stake to hold back.

Conspiracies simply mean too much secrecy and competence - do we really think the government is this hermetic?

I used to be one of these people... probably cause so many of the men in my family think this way, but my sister never has, and over time I think its easier to trust those whom govern you, especially if you actually work with the system, and instead of just complaining from the sidelines.
I know money talks... so it may have to do more with money, IF there is a cure available now... if not, than I think I did a good thing giving my money to a well meaning foundation with hope... I just hate having to doubt where I've learned to trust after so many years... these guys really grind my gears. icon_evil.gif

Of course there's a cure; and of course there's a govt conspiracy to keep it to only the elite.

Why do you think we never hear of the elite getting cancer? icon_wink.gif

I don't keep track of those people... never interact with them... hmm, but I will have to make a day of researching this supposedly suppressed cure.

You're reading too deeply. It's interesting to consider why we have a hair and boner pill but not a cure for cancer. I personally think because there's a renewable market that drives interest in a hair and boner pill (you have to keep taking those things, after all). Those cancer patients, on the other hand, ugh -- they just take your medicine and get all healthy and shit. No repeat business. So there's no financial incentive to really go after the cure for cancer.

But a conspiracy to suppress a cure? That's pretty farfetched. What's the motive? Why not do that with polio or smallpox too? They're much more effective killers. Conspiracy theories, I think, are a manifestation of our frustrations that hardly anyone cares about anyone else or the rest of the world.

no offense, but you hang out with idiots. that said, your money is totally wasted if you donate it to susan b komen because they're a horrible organization that uses your donation on so many things that has nothing to do with helping women fight breast cancer.

Thanks for that... I don't hang out with these people, one is family and the other happens to work in the same department as I do... maybe guilty by association, but we barely even make water cooler talk time... thanks the insight. I blindly trust these kinds of groups... dammit.

They're a front organization for the Tea Party.

I was disappointed when I found out that party wasn't about actually drinking tea, or teabagging your buddy... what a suck! icon_mad.gif

    ................AHHHHHH I hate these people

FIRST THERE WILL NEVER BE A CURE FOR CANCER!!!! CANCER IS A BROAD TERM! What type of cancer, whats the histiology, where in the specific part of the organ is the cancer....

There are literally thousand different variations of cancer...so please if you think theres a cure you an idiot..I have studied cancer for years and treat ir...my B.S. in Radiation Therapy proves it.

However, yes I do believe giving money to Susan G Koman is a waste...I wont say why but I have my reasons...But never let anyone knock you down for giving to a cause that he helped people

Well, I'm quite the expert on such things, but you left out crucial information in your post. What kind of cupcake was it?

This is what I do... this is how I am in real life. I tell you guys, very few people are able to click with me, and get passed my questions and opinions... but why should they, if they can't accept that part of me, they're not really accepting me at all. Ooh, this was a good post idea I think.

Also yes, in this day...Cancer makes the most money in hospitals. Surgeries make less than Cancer centers. Thats one reason why alot of hospitals are expanding their cancer centers.

Oh wish I'd taken pics of them... they were vanilla, strawberry and chocolate mixes with a variety of frostings... standard sugar frosting, cream cheese and the others were coconut/cream cheese deliciousness! I also got a can of Coca~Cola out of this, and realized that girls don't like the sight of my butt. icon_confused.gif

The fact that you question things is a positive trait. People who don't question things are the ones who never learn/progress.

Of course, then there's me, who'll have a question for every question you ask. icon_lol.gif

Scientists are close to curing cancer. Have you heard of nanobees?
