Crazy or funny names for your Pets

Okay, considering how many of us are getting agitated over the political stuff (me included), and considering what a breath of fresh air the topic about our pets was, I thought I'd introduce a variation on that theme: how many of us here have given funny, unusual, silly, or just plain weird names to your pets? Y'know, the kind of names that get a big laugh from the receptionist at the veteranarian's office or the groomer's place. I'll start.
Take notice: all these names are REAL ones my animals had.

My main dog was named Odus, after Ned Beatty's character in SUPERMAN, albeit with a different spelling. He also answered to Oats-A-Pup, Odustalbuffed, Big Puppy Boy, 90 Pounds of Cemant-Headed Saddle-Painted Leapin' Love In A Doofus Suit, and Moron Dog.

Another dog was named Clancy, but was sometimes called Clanston or Clanky.

One cat named Momzigaa, and her son named "Dammit, Jim!"
Another cat named Tribble (note the STAR TREK themes).

And my favorite, a sweet little cat I had named Frank Wilson.

There was also an old, un-nuetered male orange tomcat who'd been in a million fights and looked like an old, alcoholic Vietnam veteran... y'know, the guys you see on the street or in AA meetings that are real tall, have a large head and weigh about 90 pounds, and stagger even when sober? That was this cat.

    We named him Sgt. Testicles.

We had a cat named Fantasia (after the movie).

She had a litter and my sister and I named the kittens:

    *ahem* ¬//¬

    Sunray, Moonbeam, Starshine, and Darklight

All were adopted and were given (hopefully) better names.

Except Darklight, he stayed with us for a while.

Our current cat is named Abigail.

And my bro had a german shepherd named Crazy, but then we moved and she couldn't come with us =(

I get asked about my cats' names: Caslon and Bodoni.

I love typography. ...So I named them after typefaces.

Pity the next cat....(s)he gets the moniker of Baskerville

muchmorethanmuscle saidI once had a Senegal parrot named "Zeh-Zah" pronounced like 'ZAYZUH' but no one could pronounce it so I told everyone to call her "ZZ."

I once had a red-bellied parrot named Gilbert, but I called him 'god-damned shit-sucking spawn of hell' for his habit of putting his beak through my hands. Crunched right through a fingernail once...

I have a green-cheeked conure named Dino and a cat named Sierra, so nothing funny or crazy there. Because they're spoiled little turds, I usually call them both 'Princess' though, and I'm sure when I'm not home they call me the same.

Our dogs are named Benny and Rodney... which is, in and of itself, not unusual. However, Todd had Benny registered in New Orleans (his previous home) under the name "Benjamin Leopold." How gay...

The other one was simply named Rodney by me, but ever since Rodney curled up with Todd on the couch while he was watching "Guiding Light," he has referred to the dog as "Rodney Alan-Michael." How gay... and humiliating.

The cat... is Sir Sebastian Moonpie. Puke_SKTM8E.gif

I love the guy anyway... even though he has truly humiliated our pets.

My current kitty is a huge, fluffy, yellow Main Coon Cat we named shaggy.

My roomate says he reminds him of the cartoon dog.
The dog is very sweet Laza Apsu who had a tag with the name Juliette when we got her from a rescue place so kept the name...She LOVES all people but barks at growls at and nips any dogs she encounters when I walk her.

Growing up I was very close with my godmother's dogs: a schnauzer named Benson, a beagle named Gretchen, and a cocker spaniel named Joey.

Around the time I was in junior high we took in a stray cat that my mom and sister called Gorda (which is the feminine form of the Spanish word for "fatty", which she wasn't)

My boyfriend's parents have a lab/collie mix named Kelsey, and a black cat that has no name, but I jokingly call Mah-jong.

At some point I want a westie named Neufchâtel, an orange cat named Cheddar, and a mut named Rufus.

My father was a vet tech in the air force and my good friend/ex was a veterinary tech specalizing in anesthesia at a local animal hospital. Because of our veterinary backgrounds we always felt the need to take care of animals that were deemed undesirable by others or needed care and attention that their owners couldn't provide

Tyrant (deceased)- a Basilisk lizard we provided hospice care for,

Oedipus (deceased)- Columbian Boa we rescued

Houdini (deceased)- Ball Python we rescued and was adept at escaping from his enclosures. I found him under a box of cereal in the pantry once. On another escape I found him nestled above the water heater and below the A/c intake in the utility closet. And in his final escape I found him engorged with dry feed in a bag of dog food. All three discoveries scared the shit out of me.

Trouble- Sheeba Enu mix that was struck by a car and ultimately lost a hind leg. She was given that name because there was always some troublesome complication hampering every attempt to save the leg. She's a handfull with the three legs that she has and I can't imagine what she'd be like with all four. Most of our guests failed to notice the missing leg until she sat in our laps getting her ears scratched and her nub would start twitching.

Jezebelle- Leopard gecko I rescued and brought back from the brink of certain death as she was blind and malnourished when I took her in. She's a fat happy lizard now.

Isis- Black cat Sean adopted after she acquired a calici virus that left her with poor eyesight and diminished motor coordination.

Calypso- Black Cat Sean adopted. One of the few that wasn't from the veterinarian's scratch and dent bin

Ophidian- Tuxedo Cat. My baby who still lives with me. His name was derived from the snake like behavior he exhibited as a kitten. During the first week I had him he was always curled up and would hiss and strike at the other cats. Also responds to Buster or Brat.

Zorro (deceased)- Short haired german pointer. A crazy dog just like his master. He enjoyed running and jogging with me. Had a penchant for licking toads and tripping balls while sunning himself in the backyard.

Moe and Tana (deceased)- Beautiful Red Irish setters I had as a child. They enjoyed roughhousing on the beach and hiking with me on the mountain I lived on in Puerto Rico.

I've had many furry and scaley companions in my lifetime and those are the ones I miss the most.
