Being the least stereotypically 'masculine' of all the races, we tend to fare for the worse in gay culture. The same things that make an asian woman attractive is what makes asian men 'effeminate'. We're seen as submissive, I think because of our small stature, partly due to, yeah, lactose intolerance. Since milk and even meat products has never played as much a part of our diet as in other cultures. That said, I'm as human as you are. Oh wait... I'm not. But the rest are as human as you are! All you humans should bunch up together, coz like, the invasion fleet is coming nearer. Last time I chatted with our Sector Commander, there was only like a light-year lag. We come in peace, seriously.

I'd look at why you feel that way about your date, whether it's a deal breaker or not, and then stop wasting each other's time if it ain't ever going to work.

Language is a bit of a problem when he is around other Bengalis (they stop speaking English which is more than a bit frustrating).

I personally think it is how you grow up and the stereotypes you are feed that really shape the type of guy you are attracted to. I am a black man but I grew up in an all white neighborhood, with sprinkles of Asians (specifically Japanese) and Latinos for a long time I was the only black guy in the whole school. So when i was younger I subliminally went for Asians, Latinos and White guys. I was never feed the stereotypes of Asians so i never thought anything negative of them period. And even though a lot of people think effeminate when they think Asian man, I think they should try to look past that stereotype, Just like in America you can find that really fit/buff guy, you can find that in Asian countries as well they just might have a different mindset because of their culture so don't be too picky.

Most of the comments above are well-intentioned; we're all entitled to our personal tastes. But nobody should be discussing a race's worthiness -- as if they are the qualified authority. It's actually self-righteous (who are we to be ranking anybody? Ever.) and condescending. For the record: I see Asian people all the time that I'd eagerly. If there are any negatives to dating someone Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc., it's not him or her; the negative is whoever the person is with the "hang-up."

And East Asians, Southeast, South, etc etc. queers aren't impervious to such things either. In fact, I find my Asian brothers doing more holding up this structure, but nonetheless, it is incredibly difficult to work on obliterating people's already insidiously embedded notions of race and sexuality without almost attacking how it has been constructed in his/her heads. There is a tendency for people to say, "it's just what I like" or "it's just my preference." But we aren't really just born with racial-sexual preferences. Existing ones are imposed upon someone and individual personalities negotiate those constructs very subconsciously for the most part. It's when one interrogates those "preferences" and see them as part of power system that those lower in the hierarchy (i.e. Asiatics) can start breaking down the stereotypes, assumptions, etc. that bring about discussions like we are having now. I know that no one will come out and openly admit it on here, but there has to be some reason. I felt bad for my Asian friends back in DC who were largely ignored by other gay dudes. Is it the stereotype about a small penis? Is it the stereotype about them being shorter? Is it the stereotype that they are flamers? So yeah, I'm just as curious as the poster of this question. Now, I can understand someone who genuinely "likes what he likes, and he just doesn't like Asians", but I would still be curious as to what about them he doesn't like. I've known people who say the same thing about black guys, Hispanic guys, and even white guys. But like my ex in DC says "Guys that say 'White guys only' are the most honest men you'll meet" People do tend to be the most honest when they're hateful.

Some of them do have these problems, some do not. There are plenty of American / English / Australian caucasian guys with poor grammar and limited vocabularies. Most of them glorify white men , saving themself until the next white men came along. It sad really , Asia have the most good looking people in the world. LOL Basahin mo uli, please. I was merely pointing out the way the other races see us. I distinctly said 'We're seen as...', NOT 'We are...' Gets? Even in my example, it had the disclaimer: '(at least I, hehe)'. Believe me, I KNOW we aren't like that. re: lactose intolerance, yes. sigh they can. But did you get my point? LOL. Look at the statistics again, cultures which do not consume dairy products as part of their traditional food have the highest incidence of lactose intolerance. Asians and Native Americans have the highest number of lactose intolerant adults compared to caucasian and african cultures. Southeast asians especially with 98% lactose intolerant adults, compared with milk-consuming cultures like the Dutch and Swedes (who are noted for the prevalence of very large men in their population, by the way, not overweight, just large) with only 1 and 2% respectively. Plus the fact that traditional diet here contain very little protein, and some cultures consume rice exclusively.
