Best pre-workout!?

So I started off using 1MR, I cycled on and off for a 6 months period and it worked great. Then I tried Jak3d, which didn't really do anything for me. I've used assault a few times and like it.

For the past few months I have been trying a Paleo diet with only proteins and vitamins for supplements. Needless to say, I've lost a lot of what I worked for icon_sad.gif

I've recently started using pre-workouts and other supplements, but they simply don't work the way they used to.

So my question to you guys, what is the best pre-workout you have used and/or are currently using!

    Thanks for your help!

Jack3d works for me, their old formula especially was great, but the new micro formula works just as well, just takes 30mins to hit me vs the old one started feeling almost immediately.

It's my understanding that you're not getting all that much from a pre-workout supplement except caffeine for an energy bump. For muscle gains, which it seems you're talking about, I'd focus more on your post-workout. I also eat paleo but haven't had much trouble holding muscle weight. What has worked best for me is half a sweet potato within a half hour of my workout and a little protein (some chicken works well).

If you want to do something simple, like a shake, I've liked Stronger, Faster, Healthier's recovery shake that I do mix with milk or water.

I mix my own, Bcaa's, glutamine, arginine, creatine ethyl ester, beta alinine, caffeine, taurine, and citruline malite. If you're going to copy me, don't unless you know anything about chemistry. If you take too much of some of these you can get sick or die.

I have tried several. I used Assault for a long time but decided it was too carby when I was dieting. What works best for me is getting enough sleep the night before. I find this makes or breaks my workouts.

    C4

Makes me itch a bit but it's worth it when I can eek out more reps.

Yeah, Assault's really good. I've used that for a bit until recently when a friend of mine told me about Dark Rage. Been using that here and there and it's not that bad plus it turns you poop BLUE! icon_eek.gif

(if you drink the blue raspberry flavor)

I didn't do anything before mine today, and was half assing it most of the time... cut my routine short!
I like to do sit ups, push ups, run in place, calisthenics. I drink coffee, or pregame gatorade before a workout and usually have a power bar and coconut milk after, but substituted a dinner afterwards... oddly enough I've got no whey gut or stiffness in my muscles right now. I haven't worked out in a month. icon_confused.gif

I use this too... good stuff. I like that Cellucor tells you how much of each ingredient is in a serving. Many companies don't and you should be highly suspicious of those companys' products.

I try to get as much sleep as possible, but my schedule SUCKS! I wake up at 5:30, have organizational/unit PT at 6:30, lunch is usually iffy, get off work around 5pm eat, wait to digest and usually in the gym by 6:30. The problem with going so late is that I amp'd up with energy so I don't get to sleep until midnight. Last week I couldn't sleep at all and stayed up until 4am counting my spare change! lol.

I bought one a few months ago, I use it frequently. However, caffeine in any for, coffee, espresso, etc. has no effect on me. I drink espresso just for pleasure.

C4 didn't do anything for me either. When I first started 1MR did the same thing.

Espresso has the least amount of caffeine of any coffee roast because it's so dark...the darker the roast, the more the caffeine has been cooked out of it. Breakfast/light blends are the most potent.

I agree, the itching makes me aware that it's having SOME effect.
