I just did a Korea trip this summer, and like comedienne Margaret Cho's mom said, "There is gay all over the world...but not in Korea!" In other words, there is no gay anything, bars, etc in Korea. Families REALLY pressure their kids to get married so much, even their souvenirs have traditional married couples all over it.
But what's weird is that the I Tae Won (itaewon) in Seoul (seedy neighborhood that all the american military men like to go to), has tranny bars...kinda odd. But I bet a stray gay military guy could be found in there, especially if they were there trying to find an LGBT hangout, uh at least it has the "T" part of LGBT.
I wonder if phone social apps like Grindr works there. I didn't have it on my phone. If all else fails, there's always the Seoul and Korea section of craigslist.org.
Don't forget the artsy trendy Hongdae neighborhood in Seoul. Lots of young americans and europeans mix in there too. It has a busy nightlife, and people hang out in the little park near the vendor booths there. Feels like a big street party there at night, people are dressed up kinda nice like they are in a trendy nightclub. I was sitting there on a wall in the park and there were two hot guys sitting beside me that sounded like they were either on a date, or they had just met up there for the first time from online or something, because they were trying toget to know each other.

There used to be a place on "Hooker Hill" called, "Why Not".... It was a gay bar and that is where all the closeted military and gay military guys hung out when I was stationed there in Itaewon...

I've never expected it. I thought, they were open-minded. That sucks.
