The Atlantic Coast Conference is 2-3 this weekend, as college football finally begins this weekend. Clemson, VT, and NC State all lost their opening games against teams outside their conference. Does this mean the ACC is on the downturn, or is this just some kind of early season jitters??? What do you think? Is this the year FSU takes back the ACC, as the dominant team, let me know guys.

Don't forget UVa getting thumped by USC and Maryland barely getting by 1-AA Delaware. It's not so much these teams lost, it's how much they lost by. Several of these teams - especially Clemson, which was supposed to be the class of the conference - got their butts handed to them. The ACC has been on a downslide for several years and three are no signs that's going to change this year. The gamble the conference took by raiding the Big East has been a monumental failure so far. This is also the first time in about 2 decades that Miami and Florida St. haven't been ranked in any of the preseason polls.

Well I haven't been a believer in ACC football for at least the last 3-4 years so downfall might not be the right word icon_smile.gif

The ACC is definitely looking rough right now. Since they were probably the worst major conference last year, too, it seems like a downturn would be hard. Another week like this one and it's certifiable, though.

As for FSU, I didn't expect much from them coming into the year, but you know they have the athletes to play with anyone. If they have any physicality, they very well could take over the ACC. It's not like Alabama is a great team, so just pushing people around looks like it will beat the conference front runner.
