For all my fellow MTG fanatics:
What are your thoughts in the new set?
Any breakout singles you think will redefine the game?

Holy cow. Is MTG still around? I used to play when it was just the first three or four sets were out (like legends, antiquities, etc). How different is it now?

    Calling Firebrand!

As for the set I love it, I love the Jace, land and everything about it.

Currently trying out firebrand's grixis control and seleysnia aggro for T2.

The game has changed quite a bit since 1994!
I personally see potential in the new b/g planeswalker.
Rest in peace and dryad militant are going to
shake up other formats I think with the strong
    Graveyard Hate!

indeed, although most sets are better than Avacyn Restored. I'm currently rocking an Izzet deck, but for cards defining the format... I'm iffy about that. Lotleth Troll will as well as Abrubt Decay, with Trostani being a big tempo shift. There's a lot of reasons that glogari is a money guild...

There's been a massive power creep to green lately (but I hate green so I'm biased) However, this block isn't done yet so it's too early to say that completely.

I think the green power creep has a lot to do with the fact
that mass removal in Standard has been toned down significantly. Green always used to bend over for Wrath of God.

Beast Within was also an incredible piece of removal (and in
Green, just nuts), though I'm not sure mono green will ever again
have anything close to as good now that Standard has rotated.

I'm not into magic and I only ever play with my bf 'cus he is...but I like the Ash Zealot card.

And for his birthday this month, I bought some kind of $25 foil land card.

    over and out.

EH :C I was so fucking happy to see the shock lands reprinted. I bought a display hoping I'd open up at least some; I only got one Overgrown Tomb. T'was a sad, sad day. I have an ascension deck that really needs its steam vents.

But I play a lot of commander so I was kinda happy to see some things: e.g. guild gates are really nice to just slap in commander decks. Also the keyrunes are truly welcomed. Overall, there weren't any real commander "bombs", but it made it possible to build a lot of casual commander decks.
