What are some of your fears?

For me, it's things like big creepy crawlies, snakes, and 'death'.

I've come to realize I'm not scared of too many things, but a lot of my fears are irrational.

I'm mainly scared of dying. I don't want to leave this Earth, but I know that's selfish of me and I'll have to give others a turn. icon_razz.gif

Also, swimming in the lake or ocean and not knowing what's bumping against my sides or touching the bottom of my feet!

Just the typical self-centered ones that we all have:

Losing something I have or at least something I think I have.

Agoraphobia: fear of leaving my house.
I'm on medication that prevents serious panic attacks.
But, it's still difficult, many times.

I'm afraid of heights (any place where I could fall a great distance).

I'm afraid of deep water (unless I'm on an ocean liner).

    I'm afraid of snakes.

My biggest fears, wasting my life, and living life soley relying on others. After being taken care of for almost all my life, I want to get out there and get my hands dirty. Not that I don't want any help, but there has to be some balance.

Also a fear I will die alone. Don't know if it would happen, but it still is kinda scary.

My bags are packed, and I'm not afraid to die or even pain, but to be stuck unable to do anything to check myself out. While clearing villages in Iraq, I would have much rather got my ticket punched by a sniper or some other clean kill.

Clowns! There is nothing good about who they are or what they do. Just watch Stephen King's, "It."

I always hated clowns because they scared me... but I got over that when I realized I could just punch one out icon_biggrin.gif

Heights. I can't even stand to look down from a glass window. It sucks because I like fast things, and I'd love riding on roller-coasters if I could get past my fear of heights.

Most fears I think are fear of how you think you'd FEEL if such-and-such happened. Not about something that actually harms your well-being. We can do a lot about how we feel about things, so in the end, face the dragon and stop worrying. Easier said than done!

I came across a coach called Michael Neil who's written great stuff about fear. Really useful. This book's great:

    CLOWNS!!!!!

My elder siblings used to terrorize me with watching "IT", KILLER CLOWNS FROM OUTERSPACE", the clown doll from "POLTERGEIST". and any other horror fill from the 80's that had clowns in it. My brother even hid under my bed and in my closet with the IT mask and would scare me when I would be going to sleep.
