Die Antwoord on Lady Gaga

Gotta say I like both Die Antwoord and Gaga, for different reasons icon_biggrin.gif

It was interesting to see them "including" Gaga in their latest video. I honestly felt them to be a bit over the top with it and it was a bit unnecessary, but Gaga's response was pretty high-horsey too, she said something like "Well you haven't had a #1 hit", or something like that.

Obviously they were going for pissing off "little monsters", which seems to have succeded and has given them even more publicity.

But other than that I really love the song icon_razz.gif

I like the song/beats but the video is kinda repulsive. That dig at Gaga was not warranted considering she actually likes their music and wanted them to open for her on tour.

Oh well it's good publicity for the group I guess icon_lol.gif

Having staying in South Africa for a few months, it's cool to see them trying to educate the world about real South African culture, that it doesn't always look like the adverts of Cape Town that we Americans usually see. The song is catchy and parts of the video were cool, I just hope Gaga gets that they're trying to get a rise out of people, thats kind of their shtick.

    It's too bad.
I actually rather enjoyed the song (honestly, it's largely the novelty of the S.African accent that we don't hear much in media), but the stupid skit stuff was just that plus a bit gross. I'd have been sharing the video with other people otherwise.

(Has there ever been a non-obnoxious skit by a rapper / rap group? Ever?)

I liked it, you know they could have been much more mean and personal, but they held back.

It's kinda what I felt too, I mean sure they "killed her off", but it wasn't as cruel as they could've done it.

I really like both Lady Gaga and Die Antwoord. I recently saw Die Antwoord in concert! While I don't necessarily agree with their shock tactics (and that's really what they are), I think Die Antwoord can express whatever their opinion is about another artist. Lady Gaga is a talented, capable artist, and she can take care of herself.
