What's ur take? Do u think all religions are made up, man-made, archaic dogmas that causes more strife than good? And why believe in something that doesn't believe in u? Do u believe in an omniscient Creator or God or higher being, or do u think the thought of a God or Creator is man-made itself?

Hmmm....a religion and belief in a creator are not the same thing. icon_wink.gif

The first is an organized structure often with agendas. The second is simply unfettered conviction.

'religion' quite obviously is a man-made institution, however, an uncomprehensible higher power does actually exist.

It's better that you qualify that in a second post, otherwise it makes our replies look odd, because we replied to the unedited version. icon_wink.gif.

I think religion is among the most dangerous and barbaric things that humanity created. It wasn't that way until it got in the wrong hands. Now it's used to control nations and suppress certain groups of people.

However, a person's belief or questioning (agnostic) of a creator is not mumbo jumbo. It's the misinterpretation of that belief to suppress others that makes mumbo jumbo.

Most religions have all be been barbaric in some form or another. The Mayans, The Egyptian, Vodoo witch doctors, the Druids, The Jews, The Muslims, etc.,etc. all performed human sacrifice or ethnic cleansing. So it has always been the way, since the dawn of man.

I can say that the man has a consciousness which is not complete, I don't see what others see and we don't see the things the same so we ve to ask ourselves who's conscious about all? the only answer is the existance of the super creator, the god!

I think people like to fill in what they don't know with something strict and comforting. It's not always a bad thing, and I also don't think many people could survive without it. I don't steal, kill, or be rude to people because I want to contribute positively to society, not because a book told me not to. I think if there was not that faux parent figure in peoples' lives, they would feel like they can do whatever they want.

But respect to everyone regardless of their view.

    How I see this:

A bunch of people find out they all believe in god. So they get together and say, "Hey, let's make rules and regulations about our mutual faith!"
    Voila, a religion is born.

Perhaps in a strictly religious aspect. Otherwise, no.

A bunch of people believed in equality; they formed a constitution. That's not a cult. icon_wink.gif

Yeah I think all of them are mane made, every single one. I think everybody is guided by god or whatever you want to name it, through our emotions and that's all the guidance we really need.

Religion served it's purpose for me but I'm done with it now since I know too much lol.

Out of all the man-made religions, I think Scientology & Mormonism by far have the most ridiculous beliefs.
