This is a bit of a long shot, but thought I'd give it a go,

I don't suppose anyone on RJ has a room to rent in Toronto? I'm looking everywhere and trying to get as many options as possible before I move over there next week.

Be great if there is someone on here who has one icon_smile.gif

I've put out feelers in gay.com. but. they seriously have issues there. Are you sure even realjock is safe?

Don't laugh, but have you tried the YMCA or a hospice? Do you have church connections? It's possible one of such places could keep a roof over your head until you find a place. Or you could look in the Toronto newspaper online.

Thanks for the link, I have a hotel im staying at for the first week and can keep the same rate I paid for another 6 days if I want to, but it could end up expensive in the long run so best all round if I go straight to a roomshare from 5th onwards if possible.

Some of the other responses have made me LOL :icon_razz.gif

If the lawn is accompanied by a roof, a floor, a bed, hydro, wireless etc then he has a deal haha

WhyWhySee saidRealJock can't be any worse than craigslist or somewhere like that. Some of us are pretty well vetted.

I've seen some very odd ads on craigslist so this really can not be any worse lol

It's far easier to search for a place once you land here. Why not stay at a traveler's hostel for a month while finding a place? You'll avoid scams, scummy places to live, and meet some people.

Oh, and if you do go the roommate route, Craigslist is generally the best place to look. I used to rent a room in an apartment and that's how I'd find people. But be careful... there are cheats and weirdos out there. Again, I'd check out a hostel so you can take your time and meet potential roommates face to face.

If you think about it, you'll probably spend more time with your roommate than a potential date.

I have a fair bit of co-workers who use this whenever there travelling and say it works well for them, especially for short-stays.

Oh, and more... don't know if you've lived here before, but avoid the burbs. Live downtown... look for The Village, Annex, Parkdale, Beaches, Kensington Market, Roncessvalles Village, and Little Italy. Avoid Northern Etobicoke, North York, Scarberia and any region with a 905 area code (unless you have a car, of course).

http://toronto.kijiji.ca/ is better than Craigslist and more listings than the local papers.
