..."you remember the January 19th flurries and got a snow day off from school."

"Home" always calls to me...and so I return. Ah! The Friendly Floridian returns to his limestone roots.

PM me if you would like to meet for coffee, tea, or such.

You've had sex with every nationality on the globe, and never traveled more than 10 miles from home.

Ahhh "Tampa"! Home of the old "El Goya". I remember getting fucked in an alley near that bar. Used a Chapstick for lube. The guy was uber hot. The most amazing blue eyes.

...you recently came upon polaroids of Ocean World, long since demolished for the Quay.

You know you're a Floridian, when you know off the top of you recall the creation of the Reedy Creek Improvement District and it's famous "resident" opening it's doors in 1972.

It's a small world after all!

My paternal grandfather was in Coral Gables since the 1940s, my maternal grandparents in Broward since the 1960s and my fave uncle in Jax since probably the 50s. So I was in Florida a lot before we moved here in the 70s. My first flight down was when I was 18 months old, when service was by prop-jets. Pterodactyl Air, I believe. We Flintstone-pedalled down the runway.

On one of those early trips, supposedly I met Flipper, one of them though I didn't know any better then, a huge thrill for me at the time. I don't really know now if that dolphin was actually one of the Flippers but I do remember he was playing with this very specific hat and sure enough, a few weeks or months later they used that hat as a prop in one of the episodes. So I either met Flipper or at least I met his hat.

My dad worked in engineering with WDC, and had to deal with Reedy Creek for his projects.

You know you're a Floridian when...

you wear flips and shorts eight months of the year...and you miss the colors of fall.

Carrying water bottles to keep hydrated after sweating all day.

You hate evenings when it's so humid, and it doesn't go below 80*

When you know someone who is long term unemployed.

Tampa was the only place that my employer has sent me to for an extended TDY that I could truthfully say "Yeh, I could leave New Orleans and move here."

I go to West Palm Beach once a year on business. Awesome time!
I've had a couple of kindly RJers who always offer to show me around.
I like the Floridian type hospitality!

You don't run your air conditioner, drive with your horn and never enter open water November through March.

You obviously haven't experienced Tampa/southern Florida from March to November.
