The title says it all. Preferably one that isn't dangerous or bad for your health. I remember a while back my brother used to give me some of a supplement that he said would have such an effect, but I can't remember the name. I'd ask him but I also want to hear from some more experienced guys about the different options possible.

    Thanks!

Yeah I was looking over Bodybuilding.com after posting this, I drink green tea before I go into the gym. I'm not looking for one of those gimmicky things like Hydroxycut (AKA death) just something that might help the process along.

I didn't know BB.com had the ingredient search feature, so I'll try that, thanks!

Next time you go for a check up ask the doctor to check your vitamin d levels and your thyroid functions as deficiencies in these can adversely affect your metabolism.

I asked my brother about it and he said it was something to help build solid muscle mass, which will have helped with fat loss. So I guess I should change this thread's title to a a supplement that will help with solid muscle mass.

Does this thing work? I like Dr. Oz; but sometimes I feel like he's just pushing whatever is the trendy supplement du jour...

yourname2000 saidMetabolism boosters: green tea, caffeine, capsaicin (the heat from hot peppers).

Amino acids helpful in metabolising fat: L-carnitine

Supplement useful in neutralizing the effects of the stress hormone cortisol (which causes fat to be stored in the belly): CLA.

None of them are silver bullets, but maybe they'll help give you an edge towards your goals. icon_biggrin.gif

Go to Bodybuilding.com and click on the "store" link, then search by ingredient to get a good little summary of what they do and how they work. And that site has the best online prices I've found (it's where I order my supplements from and have them shipped to Canada.)

    +1 as he says

Not what I consider an effective supplement (and I've used it for a couple of months). The guy at one of the supplement stores I go to said that it works better for women and he recommended L-Carnitine instead for guys.

Does it matter if it's regular L-Carnitine or Aceytl L-Carnitine?

Try this one! This is what I used for my most recent cut, and I am sure that it is what helped make my love handles go away.

    It is a great pre-workout.

Energy, focus, testosterone boos, and fat burner.

Try it and let me know!

You will get better results with a good diet control and proper weight training routine.

The word 'supplement' means 'in addition to'. Hence you take supplements,if you wish, in addition to your diet plan. It is not a replacement for a non-existant or lax eating habits.
