    Dear RJ,

When are you gonna make an iPhone/android app for us fools? I'm actively looking for new distractions at work, as well I think it would be great tool for fitness on the go!

Maybe we should all include this is our list to Santa this year? That dude always seems to get the job done.

It'll never happen. It's been brought up and almost unanimously wanted, yet nothing has ever been done about it.

Almost unanimously? So you're sayin there are haters out there. Likely blocking it and laughing at us. I say we hunt them down, every one of em.

I was the first one to ever propose this 4 years ago. Since then there have been roughly 2 million other threads asking for the same. Almost 2013 and Realjock still thinks that mobile is not worth the investment.

Well, there might not be much to invest with in the first place.

Disregarding the forums, RJ is delivering a product (free information guides, dating profiles etc). And with all due respect, this is not a unique offering on the world wide web because similar information is highly accessible elsewhere, including smartphone/tablet apps that have established themselves on Google Play/Apple Store/Marketplace etc. As Google et al expand, Internet domain holders have the opportunity to profit from advertisements.

Other websites circumvent the competition by creating apps that are simply a weblink to their site. Some have a mobile (m.) version.

Since this thread was delivered on the All Things Gay section in the forum...perhaps most of the demand is to use the app for using the forums more easily than doing it on a smartphone browser. That's not exactly game-changing logic to invest in an app purely for that purpose.

More often than not, a website exists to serve itself. To play the game one must purchase Internet real estate and maintain it with servers. Build the clientele and watch the ads churn out your income. Unless it costs $2 or something to purchase the app, it is a dead investment, compared to the current desktop standard.

Every time someone posts this question, they never give a compelling reason for wanting an app. It's usually along the lines of.. "because everyone else has an app". So care to elaborate on why you think this site needs an app?

App foe here. So far I've hated every app for any www site I frequent. The functionalities are so reduced, it drove me up a wall. So I'm still going to CNN.com, Facebook.com etc and their apps can disintegrate.

No, I'm saying there are people who still haven't gotten smartphones and/or tablet pc's. Everyone else wants an app. icon_wink.gif

I'm too lazy to read the whole thread.

An app isn't necessary, but a more touch screen friendly interface would be very useful. Just look at how dudesnude & gayromeo did it icon_smile.gif

I would prefer a web site geared towards mobile devices. I don't want to have to download another app.

I'm considering writing one as a pet project. It'd have to be Windows phone to start off with though, as I currently do not have an iPhone or Android phone.

I think there is a definite use for a Realjock app - personally I think using the site sucks on a smart phone browser.
