I just got a call from +650 214 4624 supposedly from Google because they want to send information about I dont know wtf. Is this some sort of scam? The woman's english was really hard to understand, her accent was Indian and I was like ma'am, I cant understand what you are saying, whats this about again? She kept talking I kept not understanding a word. Hell I get charged for long distance incoming calls wtf is this? After I told her I didnt understand a word; she said loud and clear "Your voice is pretty", I was like OK THATS NOT WEIRD AT ALL!!!!! I hung up. She called me back, I picked up lol. This time I understood a bit more, she mentioned something about: iOS development, Google, send you email, opportunity, confirmation. Thats what I got out of that second call, I said I wasnt interested and it is fucking creepy!

    my voice is pretty, HA!

I knew it happened in the US but I never understand why.

Frankly, if that happened here I'd stop using the telephone. I'm not paying for someone to call me

Sorry brah, I promise not to phone-stalk you anymore. Can you find it in your heart to forgive me? If you can, please send your forgiveness dollars to that charity thing I was talking about in the auto-recording thingy that called your phone. icon_razz.gif

It makes no sense and the only reason why they make you pay for incoming calls is because they can. Hell Fido charges customers for texting images when they already pay for a data plan!

I'll stab that rapist with my rapier. Not that there's much difference, but it would make a great YouTube video. icon_biggrin.gif

That's sort of interesting because the 650 area code is the Google area. It's the entire southern SF area done until you get to San Jose (it's 40icon_cool.gif but I think Google's campus is in the 650.

Sounds like a scam though. I've never heard of Google calling to give anything away.

I don't answer any call that I don't recognize the caller ID .... If it's important, they'll leave a message

Sometimes I get weird calls from places like India/Thailand claiming that we either won some sort of lottery/contest or we should apply for something to win a prize. I don't know what it is or how they get my information. They sometimes send me emails... not sure if it's the same people though. My advice is that if you don't know the number, just let it go to voicemail and if they need you they'll leave a message.
