Depends on where you want to get it. Think you would look good with a sports theme.

    +1

Ink on men CAN be very attractive if they are done well.

I have a tattoo and its very personal to me. Had a graphic designer design it and a well respected tattoo artist put it on.

Very simple, clean design but unique to me.

    THINK BEFORE YOU INK!

Get a tattoo of a coy fish, except the coy fish is splashing out water styled like tribal markings, and next to it have some chinese characters that mean 'infinity' or 'hope'.

Also, the coy fish is wrapped in barbed wire and has it's own tattoo of a barcode on the back of it's neck.

    Get a 3-D tattoo.

I have an idea for two different tatts and one is going to loo like its coming out of my skin. I just have to find the right tattoo artist.

Here's an idea: Have you considered doing one with invisible ink?

As the proud owner of fifteen tats (two more coming in about a week and a half)-if you have to ask, then don't do it.

1-your ink will end up being nothing more than some unoriginal thing like the kanji for strength (but translated wrong so it'll say pork fried rice) or pointy lines that you'll call tribal.

2-it'll be meaningless to you and you'll regret it. remember, it takes 10x as long to get one removed and costs way more as well.

    3-see #1. srsly

4-imitation is the sincerest form of flattery...unless it comes to ink.

Your best bet? Call a few places, go in and look at their portfolios (any decent artist should have one) and when you find a style you like, talk to the artist about some ideas. It's what they trained to do and they are paid for. And yes, they take direction well-if you don't like part of something they sketch up, tell them. You'll be the one with it on your skin-they tend to realize that and accommodate rather well.

Echoing the theme half these dudes are saying: think on it long and hard ;) It's not just that it's permanent, it's more that it should be a reflection of who you are and what you hold dear. Here is my latest (just got it Friday): http://www.realjock.com/fullphoto/01e22b370cfa452561fee722fb2e71d2?preview=1

Don't get it as a fashion statement. It just means nothing. Do it because it has meaning for you in some way and don't just pick something from the book. My ink has symbolized important events in my life and were done by locals in different countries that take ink seriously. As my Maori artist told me your tattoo is your totem, it serves to remind, protect, and help. Having anyone else's totem on your body is considered extremely bad luck in many cultures that understand the power of symbols.

Here are mine there are three and each one is a highly personal meaning and event, they were not taken from any book but designed by the artist after a long conversation http://www.realjock.com/fullphoto/fd7a7f17a801bab71d7db49154b45a0b?preview=1

I'm thinking a tattoo of Paris Hilton gathering sunflowers across the span of your middle back would suit you perfectly. In all pink.

I think all this "get it because it means something to you or don't get it" is bullshit. No one should tell you why you can or can't or should or shouldn't get a tattoo. While tattoos are permanent, we all come to terms with plenty of things about our bodies that we like or dislike. If you get one now and dislike it later, I'm sure you'll come to terms with it (or in 20 years tattoo removal will be much easier/cheaper).

If you want one, go for it. Sometimes doing something just for aesthetic pleasure is reason enough.
