http://www.huffingtonpost.com/michelangelo-signorile/watch-shocking-video-of-r_b_2038327.htmlAs governor of Massachusetts, Romney refused to allow birth certificate forms to be reprinted to accommodate the children of gay and lesbian couples, stigmatizing those kids and creating possible hardships for the rest of their lives. Documents Waas unearthed showed how Romney required hospitals to instead cross out "mother" or "father" on the birth certificates of children born to same-sex couples and write in, with a pen, "second parent," and only with the permission of Romney's office.

One of two video clips that Waas has now uploaded to YouTube shows Romney speaking to conservative voters in South Carolina in 2005, as he was testing the waters for a presidential bid, discussing his battle with the Registry of Vital Statistics and Records regarding the birth certificate forms. Romney distorted the Registry of Vital Statistics' plan, which was to change the labeling of boxes on the forms from "father" and "mother" to "father or second parent" and "mother or second parent." He claimed the plan was to change the form to have "Parent A" and Parent B" boxes. Those terms were not in fact used...

Romney outlined his battle with the Registry of Vital Statistics to the Senate Judiciary Committee regarding changing the birth certificate forms. He defended his position to the Judiciary Committee (and again claimed it was about changing the form to include boxes labeled "parent A" and "parent B" when that was not the case) even as a Massachusetts Department of Health attorney warned that it didn't conform to legal statues and could disadvantage the children later in life, impeding their ability to apply for school and get passports, drivers licenses or other forms of identification, particularly in a post-9/11 world where they might be viewed as security risks with altered birth certificates.

In 2006 Romney went on to stop the publication of an anti-bullying guide for public school students, because the term "bisexual'' and "transgender'' were used in a passage discussing harassment against students.

Nope, this is NOT our next President, thank goodness.

On the bright side, RJ's Republicans would remind us that Mitt has said a lot of things he doesn't believe.

For political gain, Mitt will please his base, The Crazy Hate-filled Religious Right. THAT....YOU CAN TRUST.

BUSH----Fool the United States twice SHAME ON U.S.
The world laughed at him, I mean DAMN! Ive even seen him being made fun of on SNL.
Why would ANYONE on this site, or any GAY man or woman vote and support someone who CLEARLY DOES NOT [support
    ALL of the AMERICAN PEOPLE?
    Why join that hypocrisy?

It's nerve racking though. I've literally been anticipating this election since the day he was elected to his first term. I had hoped he would have such a big lead by now that I could relax, but I guess we'll all be holding our breath until election day.icon_confused.gif

Just read Nate Silver and Sam Wang.

You'll be fine. The media is making this a horserace but the truth is Romney is going to lose and it's not going to be close (in the electoral college).

Is there actually a chance he will win? When's the last time they kicked someone out after one term?

Gay people who care about their rights and other people's civil rights need to get out and vote against this man. He is just as bad as a Klan member in this video.

And the gays who DO vote for him have no place in my heart. They're just crooked nigger-hating bastards.

Considering there have already been two high profile cases of voter fraud publicized, that may be incorrect.

And this is why I think R&R will be tyrannical if they get elected. Look up the wiki or dictionary definition of tyrannical. They fit it, hook line and sinker. icon_wink.gif

George H W Bush is the latest one-term President. But the odds are not in Romney's favor to win. He doesn't even come close.

Old video and I tend to agree. While everyone with half a brain would agree that in a perfect world children would be raised by a caring, loving, educated mother and father who both had the time and dedication to raise their child with care and love. Since those parents are few and far between, you start to look at what would be the best for the children. Gay parents are on that list, but not equal to what would be best for the children.

Meanwhile in the straight world, one in 4 children in the US are being raised in single parent households. A fair number of them have father listed as 'unknown'.

What does Emperor Mittens have to say about that? Oh...nothing? icon_lol.gif

So now we learn that Mitt's hatred of gay people is so intense that he also hates their children, and goes out of his way to persecute them and make their lives more difficult. Republicans must be so proud of this angry, spiteful bigot they are rallying around.

Romney's never ending pandering to the narrow minded, bible thumping screwballs is a terrible disgrace. This man does not deserve to be elected president.

Speaking of half a brain, you apparently have one: there is no data to back up your false assumption that gay parents are any more or less harmful to children than straight parents.

Of course, homophobia is all based on stereotype and false assumptions. Facts don't matter to people who parrot homophobic nonsense like this.
