Do you expect a similar physique in your partner?

    For those of you who go to the gym to improve or attain a specific sort of physique (toned, svelte, truly ripped, bodybuilder, etc.), do you expect a similar standard in your potential partner, either in a long term relationship or for casual fun? Or do you hold yourself to a higher standard physically-speaking and expect less of them? I'm sure we all have a certain prerequisite that any potential partner should be health conscious and at least make attempts to watch their diet or exercise occasionally. Or do you really hold them to a higher standard and expect serious sports involvement and a specific physique? There's no shame in admitting if the latter is the case, it's about answering honestly.

    All I want is a healthy weight and lifestyle, and all I hope for is the same in my partner. I like bodies from tones, to ripped and bodybuilder level. As long as he has some muscle (in all the right places) its all good with me.

    All I expect is some effort to be healthy. You need to actually care about your body. I don't think I'd actually get along too well with someone who has an absolutely perfect diet or who spends every minute of their entire life trying to improve their physique. There needs to be some balance in there.

    For him I expect to have a toned body. For me, I want to get RIPPED!!

    So yes, I have a higher standard for myself. icon_neutral.gif

    well i think if you work hard for your body, why expect any less from your partner... that said i, personally don't get hung up on physique as long as he isn't morbidly obese or stick skinny because that's just unhealthy...eat your fruits and vegetables kids icon_cool.gif

    I expect him to be an Adonis, but accept me for who I am. Otherwise I'd break up with him.

    I'm trying to gain weight for my own personal achievement. Of all the people I've been with, they usually don't have an amazing physique, I guess I don't have a great expectations for physique, but it doesn't hurt to come with it of course icon_biggrin.gif

    Well, I am not "toned", but I am open to size. I like anything from lean muscular to a lil' overweight. A little extra fat never hurt anyone, and a tummy can be hot on some guys.

    Personally, I like my partner to have a different physique than myself. I'm pretty big and beefy, but I like my men to be more lean and sleek. I like some muscle, but like a swimmer, not a bodybuilder.

    I would say a 30% more better physique!

    If I'm skinny -> he must be fit

    If I'm a hunk -> A bodybuilder

    If I'm Hulk --> icon_eek.gif......icon_confused.gif

    As long as you don't draw yard lines around my torso, it'll all be good. icon_biggrin.gif

    Also he is not allowed personal issues to effect his weight. He should never develop any illness that alters his body or energy or attitude. He should never be in an accident which leaves him deformed and certainly he should never age.

    Easy answer, no. I'm fairly neutral to a variety of body types aside from my own. I'm more concerned with chemistry. icon_wink.gif
