Hmm Disney doing it suggests more kid friendly Jar Jar type characters, so I am skeptical. But will see it of course!

That animated Close Wars series was good.

They also want to make a new one every 2-3 years...they ruined it. But he'll they gotta make their four billion back...

I'm interested to see what they do with the franchise. After all the Pirate movies were OK. So we know that these new Star Wars movies will have at least a PG-13 rating.

Disney controls the Marvel movie lineup so I expect some good things!

I mean Lucas kind of set the bar pretty low with episodes I, II, and III....

How bad could it possibly be... although I don't know if there's much interesting story left after episode VI.

Let's not kid ourselves here either.... Mickey is a pretty greedy mouse...they did not buy Lucas for the kindess of their heart or the expansion of the movies or making the storyline better...but because the FRANCHISE will continue to pump hundred and millions of dollars to new fans to recoup the 4 billion on the sale and it will be nothing with later years producing even more.

I hate it, but Mickey knows I'll go see them at least 10 times.

Oh dear god - my eyes!!

Ok seriously though, I am SUPER excited. I remember going to see the first Star Wars movie with my dad. And I was hooked.

I think have seen the six star wars movies more times than I have seen all other movies together. There is something about them that turns me into that awestruck, wide-eyed, 12 year-old every time.

So I, for one, cannot wait...

My favorite thing about all of this is SW fans have been screaming for YEARS about how Lucas needs to get away from the franchise and give it to a capable studio.

    And then that happens.

And then suddenly everyone loses their shit and forgets what they've been pissed about all this time.

It's a good thing nerd rage turns me on.

Maybe they should let Star Wars go to that place of no return. Trying to keep it going I think has a greater chance to be a huge mess then a success. It would take an excellent director, some great writers, and good casting to make it all float. I hope they can do it right. They should considering they already spent billions of dollars to get the franchise.

I'm sure it will have its target demographic and all the fans of the original trilogy and the fans of the prequel trilogy wont be in that demographic. I think it will be good for the new generation of fans for the franchise.

There were two good movies somewhere in that series, right? I don't know that Disney can make it a third. Pixar maybe.

On the one hand it's obviously just an excuse for Disney to milk it's new cash cow. On the other if they hire the right people and a really talented director it could potentially be a very interesting project.

Gonna wait till production starts on the thing and some of the players are named.

One good omen is that George Lucas won't be directing it . icon_lol.gif
