i get that there are opposing sides to many issues. i get gay republicans are
about the economic side not social. i get that they say they are not a one issue
voter so gay rights ranks low.

but i still hate'em with a passion... so is that wrong?

i figure most are children of repubs and just can't wash away that stain...

and i look at what obama has done for gay rights and it''s actually an amazing list... (these are just a few)

-Signed the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention
    Act
    -Repealed Don't Ask/Don't Tell
-Signed the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Extension Act
-Reversed US refusal to sign the UN Declaration on Sexual Orientation
    and Gender Identity
-Extended benefits to same-sex partners of federal employees
-Banned job discrimination based on gender identity throughout the Federal
    government
-Determined that Section 3 of DOMA is unconstitutional
-Endorsed the Respect for Marriage Act
-Extended the gender-based employment discrimination protections of the 1964
-Civil Rights Act to transgender employees

to me (wrong or right) they come across as pathetic and embarrassing supporting people that hate them, vote against them and would take their rights away asap

i remember the gop convention when a group of repubs got on their knees to pray for the homos that were attending... how embarrassing

    It's wrong to HATE.

Immensely dislike ... disapprove of ... but "hate" seems a bit strong of wording

Hate in any form is wrong. Does the phrase "Homosexuality haters" mean anything to you?

Don't understand, and don't agree are better. Despise and any other words along that line are not as strong, but just as bad. If gay bashers said despise instead of hate, would that make you feel any better?

Obama has definitely done some good things for gay rights, (more than I knew about) but like President Bush, Obama has become a symbol of everything that has gone wrong in the last four year. And more people are concerned with the economy and the war/foreign relations than gay rights.

I'm not saying it's right, that's just how it is.

the economy is way better... bush had years of huge job losses obama years of job growth... the stock market has doubled... people love us overseas compared to bush... polls overseas shows huge admiration for obama and dislike for romney... but all that aside...

for me gay rights is really all connected to how i connect to the country... if my country says i'm less than the majority then what am i suppose to do?

to watch someone vote for people who would take rights away... i just cant figure it out... repubs will take away gay rights... there's no doubt about it... i don't get how gay repubs just sort of ignore that

romney in particular gave money to take existing rights away in california... it's disgusting

any gay repub in cali is voting for a man specifically that took your right away to get married...

maybe all gay repubs are subs... that would make more sense

"Hate" isn't right or wrong. It's simply a waste of time, and the only result of it is injecting your own system with bile. That's the only thing hate does, it poisons your own body. It does nothing to the person or thing you're "hating".

Though the economy is better, its still bad. People are never happy until its completely better icon_rolleyes.gif. And though people love Obama, some people prefer fear over love so they may think Romney may get their "respect" more. (It's hard playing devil's advocate when you don't even know/understand their thinking).

Gay rights are obviously important to you, me and all other gays. But most people don't see it as very high on the food chain. Not everyone sees sexuality as much as we do. They don't struggle with their sexuality as much so obviosly they can't relate to us.

As for those who "vote their rights away" it all comes down to them being uneducated. If you really want to help, educate them. Show them how they are wrong, but don't yell or use hate, use facts, and research. Then at least you are in the right, and they are the illogical ones.

I don't know about Romeny's record, but like every other politician, he gives money for what he belives in.

The Fact: Life sucks. Those with money get power and those with power rarely listen to the powerless. They do what they can to maintain their power, even if some people have to suffer.

My personal opinion: The president always gets blamed for anything that goes wrong. That is just how it is. Even if its inherited or the fault of the people under him, the President gets blamed. I don't like Romney, but I don't see why you are soley blaming him when its the majority of the republicans and religous nuts that are gonna fuel the things you say. (Some may be okay though) I know about the issue you were talking about, since I live in California, and I know the only way to change the world is one person at a time. Being a nut (not saying you are) doesn't do anything. Logic, reasoning, facts and research are the only things that can change a rational person's opinion. And even then, not everyone is rational.

Trust me, you can't always win.

I think "pity" is more akin to what I feel for gay republicans. They are akin to "Jews who collaborated with Hitler", "Ancient Slaves were sycophants to their Masters to the determent of other slaves", "Family members who would rat on other family members at the hands of totalitarian regimes", and "Judas relationship with Jesus".

    That's all.

The enlightened just love those who treat them like shit. It's a special treat.

How's this for turning the other cheek? Sit on it and spin, why don't ya!

Can hate be constructive? There certainly seems some focus to it, some direction, maybe some purpose. So is it all bad? Hating overall some group is probably usually stupid, but maybe it's pretty natural to hate specifically those who betray you, maybe even moreso than someone you don't know who tries to hurt you, and especially if it is someone who you love. How could you not hate them for betraying you? That's certainly not the shit we love; and it would be bullshit to say it is. You don't get love for treating us like shit. Fuck you.

If someone does betray you and you suppress your hate for that, couldn't that become enabling for more betrayals? Aren't you just setting yourself up at that point. Is that being loving (does that really do them any good?) or is that being a patsy? (does that hurt both of you?)

Gay people have been extremely patient with the str8 scumbags who continue to withhold from us our human rights. Why wouldn't we hate gay traitors? We're supposed to love them? Here, kiss this sand spur and tell us how that feels.

I don't buy this shit that there's something more important than my human rights. Fuck you if you think there is. We would love to free the slaves but the other party says they'll add an extra day of free snow removal if we vote for them so you can understand me not voting for your civil rights. Fuck you. We would love to have allowed Jewish immigration during WWII, but the other party promised us something or another more important than their lives. Fuck you too.

News Flash. The haters are not the only ones who get to invoke God. They're not the only ones who get to hate.

You want to vote in a way that blocks or delays our enjoying our human rights? FUCK YOU, GOD DAMMIT, FUCK YOU.

Is it wrong to hate gay christians? "Hate is a rather strong emotion. Why waste your emotional energy on such people? Why not just regard them as self deluded, or misguided? I can understand despising gay politicians who work against gay rights, or even other gay men who work against gay rights. (There have actually been some.)

Ha. Freedomisntfree should know: he is full of hate for Obama, for gays, and for liberals and Democrats. Full of vitriol and bile; it comes across in his posts.

Gay Republicans are deserving of pity and contempt. Not hate. Hate is an ugly thing and an ugly word.

Keep in mind also that RealJock's conservatives are not representative of most gay Republicans. Most gay Republicans are simply naive and uninformed. RealJock's conservaposse are a unique mix of stupid, dishonest, phony, and usually washed-up poll truthers and delusional nutsjobs with sad, socially isolated lives and really nothing much to do. Most gay Republicans are of the Eisenhower mold and are not quite as pathetic as the self-loathing Teabaggers we get around here.

The problem isn't that too many gays hate Republicans.
The PROBLEM is that too many Republicans hate gays.
AND the Repub party has been trying to use it's political power to deny gay Americans full equal rights.

The Repub party has been waging a holy war against gays for decades.
How the fuck are gays supposed to feel about the Repubs - when the Repubs have been hate mongering against gay people and trying to pass laws that make gay Americans second class citizens?

We have a right to be angry.
We have a right to fight back.
    In fact - if we don't - we're cowards.

You waste too much energy hating people.

You have to rise above the haters, who hate you for your way of life and try to hold you down.

GAMrican mentioned 'pity' and that's a better word to use. I pity people who have nothing better to do than hate other people, people they don't even know.

It's hard, as a liberal person, to understand Gay people who would vote for a party who belittle them, treat them unfairly and impede any move towards equality.

I guess we're all different and that it would be boring if we all thought the same about everything.

Having said all this, it is your duty to vote Obama, who seems to want to help LGBT people gain equality, rather than the other guy who represents a party on their last legs trying to take you back in time.

    Loz
