Palin and God

This was sent to me in an email. I do not know the source. If it is true, we should be very afraid.

Three months before she was thrust into the national political spotlight, Gov. Sarah Palin was asked to handle a much smaller task: addressing the graduating class of commission students at her one-time church, Wasilla Assembly of God.
Her speech in June provides as much insight into her policy leanings as anything uncovered since she was asked to be John McCain's running mate.
Speaking before the Pentecostal church, Palin painted the current war in Iraq as a messianic affair in which the United States could act out the will of the Lord.
"Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending [U.S. soldiers] out on a task that is from God," she exhorted the congregants. "That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God's plan."
Religion, however, was not strictly a thread in Palin's foreign policy. It was part of her energy proposals as well. Just prior to discussing Iraq, Alaska's governor asked the audience to pray for another matter -- a $30 billion national gas pipeline project that she wanted built in the state. "I think God's will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas line built, so pray for that," she said.

Here is part of the speech, I guess it is true.

Sad, and this person might become President.

She can pray all she wants, till the cows (Caribou) come home for all I care..but this is why (whether your email about her is fact or not) it's so vital that the US keep church and state separate, forever and ever....through all dimensions and all time.

Yes it is true. It explains her anti-gay sentiments. The link on this post of mine from another topic has the link. I watched the video but am not sure how long it will stay up ..

Well at least as commander and chief of Alaska she understands the complexities of IRAQ ..

1)first it was to get the arsenal of Weapons of Mass Destruction,
2)then it was to get the 9/11 terrorists,
3)then she says "we are fighting in some sense over energy supplies",
    ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3jnbiHAMuY ) [see time marker 8:04]
4)NOW the Governor has revealed: "our national leaders, are sending (troops) out on a task that is from God."

Tonight, I thought I also heard her mentioning Georgia/Russia but may have just been having a bad dream.

Watch out middle east! watch out Russia! We are on a mission from God! Putin beware .. here comes ..

    JOAN OF ARC(TIC)

    447px-Ingres_coronation_charles_vii.jpg

Update: Yep, Iran, Russia, Venezuela all in one .. that old familiar war drum is beating!

PalinWith Russia wanting to control a vital pipeline in the Caucasus, and to divide and intimidate our European allies by using energy as a weapon, we cannot leave ourselves at the mercy of foreign suppliers.

To confront the threat that Iran might seek to cut off nearly a fifth of world energy supplies ... or that terrorists might strike again at the Abqaiq facility in Saudi Arabia ... or that Venezuela might shut off its oil deliveries ... we Americans need to produce more of our own oil and gas.

Well I'll have to investigate this claim, but I'm reluctant to believe something that just shows up on the internet, unless verified, even with the Palin woman. We need to be fair with her.

Well I'm not defending the woman in the least... I think anyone who reads here knows what I think of the Palin woman... I just know that fairness is always important, but I do appreciate seeing this information.

I know you're a young tad, but Palin isn't breaking any ground for women. The Democratic Party nominated a woman for Veep in 1984. Palin will meet the same fate she did, and for many of the same reasons.

Different century, totally different mindset, and Sarah Palin is an immensely more likable woman. Maybe you haven't been paying attention all day at the impression she made last night.

You're right. She's an absolute darling of the rabid right-wing delegates in that room. She absolutely energized the Republican base, yet also energized the Democratic base at the same time. Net result: She appears to be a Divider, not a Uniter. McCain needed to win over the undecideds and Independents, not solidify the right wing with a pit bull with lipstick.

Um, my impression is, the Palin woman is a right winger and I didn't think she was likable at all.

She impressed the conservative base of her party and others took note of her. With luck, she'll end up back in Juneau...

It's scary when people interpret their will as God's will.

Spooky, how so many religious people confuse the two.

Muahaha, that is so ironic! Did you catch the end of John McCain's speech tonight, when Cindy, Sarah and Todd joined him on stage? As some McCain-extolling country song faded out, Heart's Barracuda started to blast over the loudspeakers. You got her pegged, MG!
