I know, this sucks. I think this is ridiculous. We live in an age where we should now be springing forward during the winter instead. Most crimes are committed during the cover of night, so why are we giving criminals an extra hour to come out sooner. People do their grocery shopping etc. when they get off work and for most, that is at the end of the day. So this gives criminals the opportunity to start striking an hour earlier for muggings, etc. It is time to change the daylight savings time laws.

I truly don't know why Arizona and Hawaii can get away with escaping this non-sense? I think that if folks had it added to their local ballots that they can escape the nonsense. Puleeeeze.

I know, totally hate that. Evenings should be light extended, not mornings. Who wants 5:00 am morning light?

Same here in Chicagoland. Past experience tells me that in the months of more darkness before midnight, I crave carbs more than at other times of the year.

What a struggle this will be!! icon_sad.gificon_sad.gificon_sad.gif

If it's the earlier darkness that sucks, do we want to get rid of ST or DST? We returned to ST at 2 AM today, and DST ended.

Well, if we ever colonize the moon (and didn't some Republican contender for the nomination suggest that?) people could live there in eternal sunshine - no more winter darkness, no more night time.

Uh... The moon is tidally locked to the earth, not the sun. A day there is approximately 30 days, not eternity.

When I studied in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia during fall and early winter, I could not get used to days ending so early. It was quite depressing to see the sky completely black by 3:15pm!

yes, yes it does suck. It sucked even harder last year right after i'd bought my car. It still had a pair of old Wagner Electric sealies on it and I couldn't drive much worth shit after dark.

A pair of 7" Valeo/Cibies fixed that nicely tho...

I lost that hour last night- the one that I was supposed to gain by setting the clocks back.
I got stuck in the subway for an hour, supposedly a stalled train further up the track caused delays. I felt pretty ripped off but by chance at least I got to see my (cell phone) clock go from 1:59 AM to 1:00 AM.

But didn't trying to pronounce names like Nizhny Novgorod at least distract you from caring about the darkness?!

LOL! Sadly, that is one of the lesser complicated Russian city names one can attempt to pronounce!
