Cindy McCain just lost her husband's election for him.

Well I must have missed it, but I didn't listen very closely, but the overall tenor was fine.

one of my female co-workers was very turned off by how Cindy dresses and looks. she thinks it's too elitist and from that has decided the McCains are out of touch. Cindy should've gotten Laura Bush's stylist and gone for something more Republican matronly lol.

Because I refuse to read him, someone told me Perez Hilton called Cindy "a hot tranny mess". I wet myself laughing.

Here is a great Cindy impersonator.

There's an article in Vanity Fair basically breaking down the costs of one of the outfits that she wore while making a speech with Laura Bush during the convention.

    Cindy McCain
Oscar de la Renta dress: $3,000
Chanel J12 White Ceramic Watch: $4,500
    Three-carat diamond earrings: $280,000
    Four-strand pearl necklace: $11,000–$25,000
    Shoes, designer unknown: $600
    Total: Between $299,100 and $313,100

It's kinda ironic/laughable that part of the speech was about supporting people that were losing their homes in the hurricaine. icon_rolleyes.gif

Perez is a terrible bias source for anything. For a week he posted anti-Palin stuff daily and while you may like or not, I don't think he has any place (considering what he looks like) to be an ultimate-judge of anything. Then, today, he posts about how great of a speech she delivered. His blog used to be good a year ago. Now, he just has way too many people writing posts

I have a policy of not getting drawn into this political detritus, but I'm kind of surprised that nobody has mentioned her resemblance to the Martian chick in "Mars Attacks..."

I think she looks a little like Cruella Deville, that's all I'm saying.

The only thing that moved her during her trip to Mother Teresa's village were the two kids she "rescued?" Um, the value of her outfit as above could have fed, educated, nourished, and built a new home for all of the kids in the orphanage.

Really. She talked about these aid organizations that she thinks are wonderful, but if her husband gets into office, who will fund them? Who will help provide the 30-50% of their operating income that is supported by government grants either here or from other countries...

Since this topic started with the claim that Cindy lost the election for him... can someone please defend that claim? I watched the entire speech and saw nothing that would have justified such a bizarre idea. Toward the end I did say to my family that it was getting a bit awkward and we switched channels until she was done, but that doesn't mean the election was lost.

Honestly..sometimes I think some of you are joking, please tell me this is the case. Cindy McCain has done more in her life than most of us could ever dream of doing.
-She has worked tirelessly helping the unfortunate and sick all over the world,
    -Worked directly with Mother Teresa,
-adopted a sick child from a thrid world nation of Bangladesh
-She founded/ran a non-profit organization, the American Voluntary Medical Team, from 1988 to 1995 that organized trips by medical personnel to disaster-struck or war-torn third-world areas. She is still active

so again, please tell me how she "just lost the election for her husband"

I mean it's not like she said "for the first time in my adult life I am proud of my country" OR " America is a downright mean country"..no, that was actually said by Michelle the Elitist Obama

Ha ha, your funny. Looks like donating the dress she wore to speak could have funded an orphanage for several months+. I don't wanna hear anything about her not being an elitist.icon_confused.gif

seriously... Cindy McCain was the first person in her family to graduate from college. and she didn't go to an elitist ivy league school either. i, too, don't understand your use of the term "elitist"

Sure..elitist meaning she does not connect with the average American. Has a different outlook on this country than most patriotic Americans (based on her previous publicly stated remarks talking down about America)

Again. may I remind people that Cindy McCAin has done more in humantarian aid than most people could ever dream about...based on that, say what you will about her but she is no elitist. Spending time in thrrid world countries side by side with sick children, is surely something no elistist would ever do

WHAT HAS MICHELLE OBAMA DONE in comparison???

I agree. It sounds like alot of Dems on these forums base their political choices on how someone looks. Very similar to Hollywood liberals. I actually heard the Dems pointing out how many celebrities like Obama. icon_lol.gif Make up your own minds-don't be sheep!

    Get out and Vote!!

Wow!!!! Such venom. How she looks? What she wears? Nothing about whether she has done good or bad deeds? No wonder people think WE are superficial.

Did she pay for her own clothes and jewelry? If so, then what is the problem? Should she shop at Kmart to show that she is a good person? She has money. Her family is wealthy from building up a very large Budweiser distributorship. Good for them. Good for her.

Why do people have problems with wealthy people spending money? It keeps people employed. Does anyone understand economics? Would the people that make clothes and jewelry and watches and build homes and build nice cars be better off, and would the people they employ be better off, if wealthy people did not spend money?

Madonna gets plastic surgery and we all buy her next shitty album. Angelina and Brad get plastic surgery and we all go see their mostly shitty movies. More power to them. Is Cindy McCain supposed to fake being poor for votes for her husband? Drive an old car? Wouldn't that come off as fake and pandering?

    Dear Kool-Aid Drinker:

Um, you might want to retract the first lie there....Cindy McCain admitted this week that it wasn't true. So why are YOU still parroting it?

The second lie is a lie of elision. Michelle Obama did not say that, in that form, and the transcripts have shown it over and over again.

Look, if you want to be a racist pile of crap, be my guest, but try to be an intellectually honest racist pile of crap. Or is that incompatiible?

OK, bagging on Cindy McCain for her clothes is stupid. But you last two guys going after Michelle are so full of crap. Really, Michelle is elitist? Give it a rest. McCain could have had an affair with a richer beer heiress, but he settled for Cindy because of her philanthropy.

See, we could keep this stupid shit going all night.
