I usually ignore most political threads but was curious in knowing if Romney made any public statements showing his solidarity, support, or pray towards the tens of thousands of people whose homes were destroyed or damaged in the recent storm in New Jersey/NY/etc.

Just curious and figured someone on this thread would know.

Of course he did, in nearly every campaign speech he has made since the storm. He's also asked people to donate to help those in need suffereing from the storm.

Romney is against FEMA, and the EPA. He will work harder than Bush did to destroy the planet.icon_mad.gif

Romney has made his position on relief for storm victims very clear:

    ELIMINATE FEMA!

MITT has offered his fake and obligatory words of concern.....

but his policy of de-funding FEMA

would be CATASTROPHIC when we face our next natural disaster.

Well, Romney did organize a FAKE hurricane relief food drive, where he bought $5,000 worth of canned food, and had his campaign staff take photos of people handing the canned food to Romney, trying to make it look as if the general public was coming out in droves to Romney's food drive.

Oh, and Romney begged New Jersey Governor Chris Christie to let him appear with Christie for a photo op, that would pretend to show that Romney gave a damn about all the people who were devastated by Hurricane Sandy. GOVERNOR CHRISTIE REFUSED.

PS The RED CROSS said before that event that they did not want and could not process canned goods. They could only use CASH donations.

    So.....

Once again. If he really wanted to DO something the $5000 check would have been a nice gesture. The canned goods did nothing.
