This is great that we reached this level of medicine and hopefully other breakthroughs have come through...the only barrier of course is the price per patienticon_eek.gif which is shocking, and pre-payment plans give me a break...I work in the industry but I feel this is outrageous...we need to go back to the roots of medicine to heal the patient; this profit margin is outrageous. I understand the R&D of what it brought to bring to the forefront, but there has to be a balance between patient care and healing, is not a normal business, and unfortunately the pharma industry justifies but it should not be the case.

I am always uncomfortable with our approval process. There is never enough emphasis placed on long term effects, so there is no way to know how it'll end up. Not to mention that messing with genes is still beyond us to fully predict.

I like the potential, but I think it's way too soon.

That's a really expensive drug! But I guess I'm just happy that corporations are beginning to release cures for things, rather than just milking people through consistent treatment.

A new drug to fix faulty jeans? Why don't you just patch them? Or give them to the goodwill and buy new jeans?

    What? Faulty genes?

    Oh ... that's different.

    Nevermind!
